Exoprimal: How to Open War Chests

Articles Games Gaming Gaming News Guides

War Chests provide players with free cosmetics and currencies in Exoprimal, and players will need to open a menu to get inside them.

Exoprimal is a brand new third-person shooter game from Capcom. Players take on other players in Exosuits and giant armies of dinosaurs in order to get out of the dimensional loop they are stuck in. As players complete story missions and other battles, they will gain XP, levels, and items called War Chests.

These War Chests appear when players level up, and they are filled to the brim with cosmetics and currencies. There are two different ways to open these chests, and players will want to be familiar with both in this dinosaur-infested fighting game.

Opening War Chests in Exoprimal

When a player levels up, they will get a screen showing them the Exoprimal in-game loot crate they have earned. Once they have a War Chest or two, they can head to the Home menu in order to open it up. In between matches, go to the home menu, then look to the right of the screen. In the middle, there will be a War Chest button. Press this; it will open up a new screen. Sandy will help players to get the three items they have earned out of the chest. Press “open,” and get whatever is inside.

This will trigger a cutscene with the android Sandy, who will open the box and pull out three randomly colored cards. Each card will have an item of a random rarity on it, and the items that can come out of these loot boxes vary quite a bit.

What Can Be Inside War Chests in Exoprimal?

Players get three items and some in-game currency when they open a War Chest. There are several types of items in the boxes, including:

  • New Exoprimal Exosuit Skins for one of the many Exosuits available in the game. This skin won’t necessarily be for the suit that the players played the match with.
  • Weapon Skins that change the look of the suits’ weapons
  • Decals stickers to decorate players’ favorite or best overall Exoprimal Exosuits
  • Emotes to use in battle
  • Backgrounds
  • One of Exoprimal‘s in-game currencies

Each item procured from a War Chest loot crate has a rarity color assigned to it. The most common items are on white cards, while rare items are on blue cards. There are also gold cards, which are legendary items, and magenta or purple-colored extremely rare items called Epics. Players can expect to get at least one rare item per War Chest but are not guaranteed an Epic or Legendary item.

Exoprimal is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox S/X.
