A new Day One game is confirmed for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to launch in April 2024, giving gamers a new title to look forward to next year.
The recent Xbox Partner Preview event saw the confirmation that Manor Lords will be a new Day One Xbox Game Pass Ultimate release for April 2024. The upcoming medieval strategy game Manor Lords will officially launch on April 26, 2024, as part of PC Game Pass. Manor Lords is initially a PC-exclusive project, so only PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users will also get the opportunity to play it. Manor Lords joins an already growing list of Xbox Game Pass releases planned for the upcoming year.
Manor Lords was announced several years ago at this point. Developer Slavic Magic has been extremely active on social media sharing short clips and insight into the development process. Slavic Magic has gone to great efforts to show off all aspects of the game, as well as its medieval authenticity. Unsurprisingly, it has already built up quite a following. Manor Lords‘ April 2024 launch is already highly anticipated.
As part of the recent Xbox Partner Preview event, Slavic Magic shared a new trailer for Manor Lords that included two important announcements. The first announcement was that Manor Lords is now confirmed as a Day One Xbox Game Pass Ultimate release, initially available exclusively on PC. The second announcement was Manor Lords‘ finalized release date; April 26 is when Manor Lords will be playable.
Slavic Magic does make clear that the April 2024 release of Manor Lords will be an early access version of the game and not its full launch. It’s confirmed that the early access version of Manor Lords will feature core systems including city-building, army management and battles, territory claims, and a limited selection of modes and scenarios. The full launch will expand upon that content significantly. It is not clear yet when Manor Lords will fully launch.
Manor Lords being featured as part of the Xbox Partner Preview event was surprising to see. PC games remain a focus of Microsoft’s Game Pass plans, but it’s rare for games to be so prominently featured. Manor Lords is also somewhat of a niche project, being a medieval strategy game with complex economic and social systems. Manor Lords must have simply impressed enough that it couldn’t be left out.
With the addition of Manor Lords to the list of upcoming Game Pass games, 2024 is starting to look very interesting. There are dozens of games already confirmed for Xbox Game Pass next year, but few with release dates. Persona 3 Reload is scheduled for February 2 and Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes arrives on April 24. Expect that list to grow as the new year approaches.
