A major new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 brings several changes to multiplayer, Zombies, and certain gameplay mechanics.

Activision and Sledgehammer Games released a major new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 featuring changes for multiplayer, Zombies, and overall gameplay mechanics. Many fan-requested changes were made in this particular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 update, including a decreased Tac Sprint delay after sliding.
The multiplayer and Zombies game modes for Modern Warfare 3 launched on November 10 with a variety of new weapons, operators, and gear. Thanks to the Carry-Forward system, returning Call of Duty fans also have immediate access to their cosmetics and weapons from Modern Warfare 2, allowing them to pick up from where they left off. What’s more, Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer includes iconic maps from 2009‘s Modern Warfare 2, such as Favela, Quarry, and Terminal. Sledgehammer Games promises a year’s worth of updates with multiple seasons, and the developers continue to make gameplay adjustments using player feedback from the open beta and the full game’s launch.
The newest Modern Warfare 3 update brings several bug fixes and changes to multiplayer and Zombies. The new update brings a 75% decrease to Tac Sprint delay after sliding in multiplayer, and the base sprint delay after sliding has been reduced by 53%. The Tac Sprint refresh time was also reduced to match the Infantry Vest/Running Sneakers gear. Sledgehammer Games cites that the sprint delay changes were made after an internal review based on player feedback. As a result, Modern Warfare 3 players should notice more fluid movement while running and gunning.

Going forward, Modern Warfare 3 players are able to preview weapon camos and aftermarket parts earned from weekly challenges, and weekly challenges will display the base weapon that’s associated with certain aftermarket part rewards. The update’s bug fixes also address exploits that allowed players to equip aftermarket parts without meeting the weapon’s minimum requirements. Additionally, Sledgehammer Games corrected unlock requirements for certain attachments on several Modern Warfare 2 weapons. Another notable quality-of-life change involves armory unlocks, since players may now progress armory unlocks without completing daily challenges in Modern Warfare 3.
Modern Warfare 3’s Zombies mode received a slew of gameplay adjustments and changes to progression. Exploits involving weapon and scorestreak duplication were addressed, and Modern Warfare 3 players should be able to exfil without falling off of the helicopter. A bug fix was applied to the Completionist Golden Enigma and Golden Ivory camos respectively as well. Players should be able to complete the camo challenges for Golden Enigma and Golden Ivory with non-blueprint weapons.
Sledgehammer Games will continue to investigate known issues in Modern Warfare 3, so players can expect more updates leading into the game’s first season. Modern Warfare 3 playlist updates will rotate popular modes and experiment with new features, so the game’s multiplayer component has a promising future if Sledgehammer Games continues listening to the community’s feedback while developing new content.
