Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 confirms that players can currently play with Double Weapon, Player, and Battle Pass XP in-game.
Call of Duty has announced the beginning of the newest Double XP event in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3, just in time for the holidays. The previous Double XP event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 took place just over a month ago, so players haven’t been waiting too long in between.
The Christmas event in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 got underway a few days ago, bringing a bunch of limited-time modes into the game. After a tough initial reception from fans and critics alike, the recent wave of updates has done a solid job of getting players re-engaged with Modern Warfare 3. Hopefully, that upward trajectory can continue long after the Christmas event finishes, in Season 1 of the game and beyond.
Developer Sledgehammer Games announced the news on Twitter, confirming that Double XP is now live across Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. This includes Player, Weapon, and Battle Pass XP, so no matter what players are feeling the need to grind at the moment, it’ll all be twice as fast. The event is confirmed to run between now and December 28, finishing at 10AM PT. The previous Double XP event added three new playlists to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to celebrate, however, that doesn’t seem to be the case this time around.

Players who want to rank up fast in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 should take the opportunity over the next few days to hop on and take advantage of the Double XP while it’s there. With Season 1 finally getting underway over the last few weeks, it’s a great chance for gamers to grind unlocks across both titles. It should be noted that the Double XP weekend doesn’t stack with Double XP tokens that can be used in-game, so players who have these should hold on to them until the event concludes.
As is tradition with the Call of Duty series, the rumor mill has already started early about what the next iteration of the series could include, and beyond. One rumor suggests that Call of Duty 2025 is making big changes based on Modern Warfare 3, which could help alleviate some of the criticism that has plagued the new release.
