Every Free Game In The Epic Games Store Holiday Sale 2023
Don’t miss out on the Epic Games Store Holiday Sale freebies.

The Epic Game Store’s Holiday sale might be known for its deals, or its reusable voucher you can use on any purchase. But the thing people really, really like most about it are the daily free games given away to the point where it’s become something of an annual event for Epic.
Through January 10, 17 games will be made free through the Epic Store for a limited time only To claim them, all you need to do is add them to your cart and check out like normal, and you’ll keep them forever. Make sure you don’t miss out by checking back to see what the latest free game is.
December 23 – 24: Fallout 3: Game Of The Year Edition

Known for its apocalyptic setting and game-changing entries, the Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition adds even more to the base title that was already lauded as one of the best games of its time at launch. A free, open world with options that allow you to play whatever type of character you want, and discover what’s happened to the United States as you skirt past notable monuments in an effort to continue to survive.
With character customization, the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System (or V.A.T.S. for short) allows you to choose specific body parts to target while pausing time and queueing attacks. You’re also given the ability to switch between first and third-person perspectives, allowing you to truly get lost and immersed in what Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition has to offer.
December 22 – 23: Art Of Rally

If you ask me, racing games should be simple. Easy to pick up and play, even if you don’t game very often. Art of Rally is exactly that, but don’t let that fool you into thinking someone picking up a controller for the first time will leave you eating their dust. While it might be simple to play the first time, if you put the time in, your experience will show, and you probably won’t tire of it either.
A top-down rally racer brought to you by the developers of Absolute Drift, if you’ve played Funselektor’s prior racing game, you’ll see elements of it in Art of Rally. Taking that idea to the next level, this game looks fantastic despite its simplicity, and it’s the kind of racer that will easily fill the bulk of your free time over the holidays.
December 21 – 22: Melvor Idle

Like Runescape? Well, you’ll likely like Melvor Idle too. Even if you’re not all that fond of Runescape, hey, Melvor Idle is free, so why not give it a go? An RPG that takes the core of what makes adventure games appealing but doesn’t require quite as much input. That’s where the idle part of its name comes in. Gather resources and max up more than 20 skills as you progress.
If you think that all sounds a little dull, I couldn’t disagree with you more. The beauty of Melvor Idle is you interact with the game as much or as little as you like. Ducking out for ten minutes without hitting pause isn’t going to ruin your game. Perfect for playing over the holidays when you’ll likely be pulled away for turkey and gift-giving on a semi-regular basis.
December 20 – 21: DNF Duel
If you’ve played any of Arc System Works’ other fighting games, like Guilty Gear, Dragon Ball FighterZ, or BlazBlue, you’ll know what to expect from DNF Duel. Based on the Dungeon & Fighters series of beat-em-ups, DNF Duel is full of wild, screen-filling combos, gorgeous cel-shaded art, and completely unpredictable roster of 16 characters.
This deal is also the first time DNF Duel has been made available on the Epic Game Store!
Where DNF Duel differs, though, is in its accessibility. It’s a much more beginner-friendly game than the others, thanks to its simplified input systems. But also lets you get to the truly ludicrous stuff a lot easier as well, thanks to the constantly refilling mana bar that powers your special attacks.
If you want BlazBlue but with a lower-skill floor, DNF Duel could be the perfect one to check out.
December 13 – 20: Destiny 2 Legacy Collection

The first freebie of the Epic Game Store holiday sale is none other than the live-service mega-hit, Destiny 2. Explore the solar system and fight against the various forces that amass against Earth in this looter-shooter FPS from Bungie, or just mess about in the various PvP modes for some of the finest shooting out there.
The Legacy Collection includes three of the game’s expansions: The Witch Queen, Beyond Light, and Shadowkeep. This gives you access to three story campaigns, a ton of new equipment and weapons, and even access to the Stasis powers. It isn’t the absolute newest content in Destiny 2 – you’ll still be two expansions behind – but it is a great headstart before The Final Shape, coming next year.
Before you can claim the Legacy Collection, you need to add the base Destiny 2 to your account. Fortunately, it’s also free.
Destiny 2: Legacy Collection was free until December 20.
