Skull And Bones Pre-Order Guide

Games Gaming News Playstation Steam Xbox Series

It’s finally almost here, for real this time, and this is how you can secure your copy along with a pre-order bonus.

Skull And Bones was announced in 2013. That’s not a typo. It has been more than a decade since we were first told about Ubisoft‘s pirate game. Six delays (that’s not a typo either) later, including a full reboot in 2020, and it finally seems like we’ll be able to take to the high seas very soon. Suffice to say, if there was ever a time to bite the bullet and secure your pre-order of Skull And Bones, now is the time to do it. I mean, Ubisoft wouldn’t delay the game for a seventh time at this late stage, would it?

Nah, surely not. Skull And Bones will almost certainly be here on February 16, 2024, or three days before that if you pick up the premium edition. Launching on PS5Xbox Series X|S, and PC – no last-gen editions despite being revealed the same year the PS4 and Xbox One launched – with two editions to choose from, everything you need to know about both and pre-ordering them, including the bonus you get for doing so, can be found below.

If you’re still not convinced Skull And Bones will be here when Ubisoft claims, but you’re into it enough to want to make sure you get a copy whenever it does arrive, then the standard edition is likely the best option for you. Commit to your copy of the game before release day and you’ll bag yourself a pre-order bonus. The Highness of the High Sea pack which includes the Noteriety Garb and the Coronation Firework. The former is an alternate attire for your characters, and the latter is a firework you can fire off into the sky, I’m assuming to either intimidate enemies or celebrate victory after you’ve sunk their vessel.

If you’ve been dying to play Skull And Bones for even a fraction of the decade, we have been waiting for it and you want everything Ubisoft has to offer, then you can pay extra for the premium edition and get a whole lot more. Not only access to the game three days before everybody else, but also two extra missions that those with the standard edition won’t have access to. Everything else that comes with the premium edition is listed below, and yes, you still get the same pre-order bonus as the standard edition owners.

If you still have doubts when it comes to the arrival of Skull And Bones after all of its delays, not only is there one final open beta coming up before release day, but Ubisoft has also revealed the first year of content it has planned for its pirate game. It seems we really will be getting Skull And Bones on February 16, so now is the time to pre-order if you have been holding off. There is no seventh delay coming, I’m almost certain of it.

FAQ

Is Skull And Bones Just Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag?

Skull And Bones started life as a Black Flag spinoff and was seemingly even called Black Flag Infinite at one point. However, it has undergone many iterations since then and while it is certainly inspired by the popular Assassin’s Creed game, it is very much its own thing.

Is Skull And Bones Like Sea Of Thieves?

It’s hard to tell for sure how similar to two pirate games will be since Skull And Bones hasn’t been released yet. However, Sea of Thieves seems to be geared more toward friends who want to have low-pressure fun together, whereas Skull And Bones will be more intense and on a grander scale.
