Activision Blizzard games are finally making their way to Game Pass, starting with Diablo 4 next month.

Now that Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard is fully over the line, and its games now fall underneath the Xbox umbrella, questions have been raised as to when we can expect the publisher’s titles to be added to Game Pass. Xbox made it clear that all of its first-party titles will be available to play on Game Pass from the day of launch, and Activision Blizzard and its studios are now considered first-party developers.

Thankfully, it seems as though Activision Blizzard’s games are finally starting to trickle onto the service, as it was announced by Xbox president Sarah Bond during the company’s recent “business update” podcast that Activision Blizzard games will start coming to Game Pass this year. She also announced that Diablo 4 will be the first title to make the jump, which will be added to the service on March 28 later this year.

Diablo 4 definitely needs the shot in the arm that a Game Pass launch will bring, having fallen off quite considerably since launch, but questions still remain about Activision Blizzard’s other premium titles such as Call of Duty. Bond only mentions Diablo 4 in the podcast, but its release could potentially open the floodgates for more titles to start being added to the service. Xbox will more than likely want to drop them at random intervals to keep excitement levels high, but Diablo 4 is a pretty good start.

As for what else was announced during the podcast, Xbox head Phil Spencer finally acknowledged all the rumors surrounding Xbox exclusives potentially heading to other platforms. While rumors were flying about every Xbox exclusive under the sun coming to PlayStation, Spencer has calmed everything down by clarifying that only four titles will be made multi-platform in the near future, though he refrains from mentioning which ones.

From the more credible leaks and rumors we’ve got over the past couple of weeks, we can surmise that these titles are likely Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, Sea of Thieves, and Pentiment, all four of which will benefit greatly from being released on other platforms.

Regarding the rumors about Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Spencer stated that neither of the titles are being considered for multi-platform releases at this moment in time, though he doesn’t rule out the possibility in the future. So, for now, there’s still plenty of reasons for you to keep your Xbox around.
