Fortnite: Chapter 5 Season 2 – How To Get And Use The Chains Of Hades

Games Gaming News Guides Video

Here’s how to get and use the Chains of Hades in Fortnite.

With the Greek Pantheon making their appearance in Fortnite, it only makes sense that they would bring some impressive weapons with them. One of which is the Chains of Hades, which works as a grappling hook that can pull in enemies before you defeat them with some up-close strikes.

The item was added alongside the return of Midas, so if you played at the start of the season, you haven’t had a chance to use the item yet. Thankfully, you can find the item in different places across the island, ensuring you can get closer to your enemies when the need arises.

How To Get The Chains Of Hades

As with the Zeus mythic added at the start of this season, you can find the Chains of Hades in the golden Greek-themed chests that can be found around the new POIs like The Underworld, Grim Gate, Mount Olympus, and Brawler’s Battlegrounds.

It can also be found as chest and floor loot, but these chests have a much higher chance of spawning the seasonal items.

You can also get the Chains of Hades weapon if you’re able to defeat Hades after summoning him to The Underworld. You’ll need to topple his statue, defeat his minions, and then defeat the boss himself to earn his Aspect of the Gods and the Chains of Hades.

If you need a guaranteed spawn quickly, then taking on Hades is likely your best opportunity. However, searching for enough golden chests can also eventually give the item.

How To Use The Chains Of Hades

The Chains of Hades is one of the better weapons in Fortnite, working as a decent projectile and a melee weapon against enemies and structures alike. To use it, you can either attack using it as a melee weapon with the standard ‘Fire’ button or prepare it for a throw with the ‘Aim’ button.

Unlike other items added this season, the Chains of Hades have no other limitations besides the swinging animations. To counter it, you’ll need to be able to keep your range and dodge it when thrown.

It can work as a great counter to the Wings of Icarus and Thunderbolts of Zeus that lift the enemy high into the air.

Once thrown with the ‘Fire’ button, it can be used to pull in enemy players from a considerable distance. This can work great if your enemy has the high ground or is standing on structures that you need to get rid of quickly.
