Xbox Game Pass Adds Hectic Genre Hybrid With ‘Very Positive’ Reviews

The tenth title to reach Xbox Game Pass in April 2024 is a hectic genre hybrid with thousands of ‘Very Positive’ user reviews.

Xbox Game Pass members can play Orcs Must Die! 3 as part of their subscriptions starting today. This is the tenth title to reach Xbox Game Pass in April 2024, and the 51st one since the turn of the year.

Developed by Plano, Texas-based Robot Entertainment, Orcs Must Die! is a series of fantasy genre hybrids that combine elements of third-person shooters with tower defense gameplay. The first two entries in the franchise were released in the early 2010s, whereas Orcs Must Die! 3 debuted as a timed Google Stadia exclusive in July 2020 before making its way to PC and consoles a year later.

The game has now also reached Microsoft‘s subscription service, having launched as part of the Xbox Game Pass April 2024 Wave 2 lineup. As is the case with most additions to the platform, the Game Pass version of Orcs Must Die! 3 is being offered to both PC and console owners, in addition to being available via Xbox Cloud gaming. Trophy hunters will find quite a bit of content to enjoy here, as the game boasts 38 achievements worth 2,150 Gamerscore points in total.

In terms of critical acclaim, this is another fairly highly regarded Xbox Game Pass addition, as underlined by the fact that it’s ranked in the 71st percentile of OpenCritic games. Orcs Must Die! 3 also has excellent reviews on Steam, with its player impressions being above the platform’s “Very Positive” threshold, based on nearly 9,000 ratings. Aside from a single-player campaign that’s roughly 12 hours long, Robot Entertainment’s genre hybrid also features co-op multiplayer for two players.

The addition of Orcs Must Die! 3 to the Xbox Game Pass library concludes the middle third of the platform’s April 2024 releases. Five more titles are scheduled to reach the popular subscription service before the end of the month, starting with the April 18 launch of EA Sports NHL 24. The ice hockey sim will be followed by the day-one release of Rabbit and Bear Studios’ ARPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes on April 23. Another day-one title is coming to Xbox Game Pass two days later in the form of Aggro Crab’s Another Crab’s Treasure, a colorful and family-friendly soulslike.

Manor Lords and Have a Nice Death are then scheduled to reach Microsoft’s on-demand game library on the 26th and 30th of the month, respectively. Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass will also lose half a dozen titles at the tail end of April 2024.
