RDR2 is being joined by 12 other games, including the underrated Cat Quest series.
Sony has officially announced all the games that are coming to the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus on Tuesday, May 21. There are three tiers of PlayStation Plus for PS4 and PS5 gamers to choose from. PS Plus Essential gets players the monthly free games and online multiplayer, PS Plus Extra comes with all that plus a rotating selection of PS4 and PS5 titles, and PS Plus Premium is the ultimate package with every previous benefit combined with access to retro titles.
The free PS Plus games for May 2024 were added to the service a couple of weeks ago, allowing subscribers of all tiers to claim the freebies and keep them as long as they stay subscribed. Those signed up for PS Plus Extra can claim those free games and look forward to having access to 10 additional titles on May 21, while PS Plus Premium subscribers have 13 games in total to check out that day.
On Tuesday, May 21, PS Plus Extra is adding Cat Quest, Cat Quest 2, Crime Boss: Rockay City, Deceive Inc., Red Dead Redemption 2, Stranded: Alien Dawn, The LEGO Movie 2: Videogame, The Settlers: New Allies, The Sims 4: City Living Expansion Pack, and Watch Dogs. PS Plus Premium subscribers get access to those 10 games plus three Premium-exclusive additions: 2Xtreme, G-Police, and Worms Pinball.

Out of all the new games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium in May 2024, the headliner is obviously Red Dead Redemption 2. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the critically-acclaimed open world western from Rockstar Games. It earned near-universal acclaim at the time of its release and is generally considered one of the best video games ever made. On top of its award-winning single-player campaign, Red Dead Redemption 2 also includes the Red Dead Online multiplayer component for fans to check out as well.
They may not generate as much excitement as Red Dead Redemption 2, but PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers should also consider checking out the Cat Quest games. The Cat Quest games are underrated action-RPGs about a fantasy world of anthropomorphic cats and dogs. Cat Quest 2 has local co-op support, making it a great choice for anyone needing something to play with their friends. The games have been added to PS Plus mere months ahead of Cat Quest 3‘s debut on August 8, making it the perfect time to catch up on the series.
There’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to the new PS Plus Extra and Premium games coming in May 2024, but there will be some departures happening soon as well. Over 30 games are leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium next week, so fans may want to check those out while they still can.
