Fortnite Leaks Powerful New Sniper Rifle

A new Fortnite leak reveals a powerful new sniper rifle may soon be coming to the game, one that has the potential to seriously shake up the meta of the current Battle Royale season. The new long-range weapon, purportedly called the Heavy Impact Sniper Rifle according to a reputable Fortnite leaker and dataminer, looks like it can do some serious damage, although hard evidence for its potential stats and attributes remains to be seen.
The ever-popular free-to-play title is currently in the midst of Chapter 5 Season 3 in Battle Royale, which features a vehicle-focused, desert post-apocalyptic theme akin to the Fallout and Mad Max franchises, although only the former has official Fortnite crossover content. More recently, Fortnite unveiled its Metallica collab content, which introduces a wide array of new content to the game across multiple modes. Battle Royale is getting a new mobility weapon called the Ride the Lightning guitar, a Metallica-themed loot island, and more.

The leak of the upcoming new sniper rifle comes from reputable Fortnite leaker and dataminer ShiinaBR who recently shared on Twitter what appears to be a cinematic screenshot featuring the Heavy Sniper Rifle from a few years ago. It remains unclear if the Heavy Impact Sniper Rifle will share similarities with the old fan-favorite ranged gun, or when it may actually enter the loot pool, especially considering the leaker said Fortnite‘s very recent content update patch doesn’t include it. However, if its anything like its similarly named predecessor, it could help turn the tides of the currently vehicle-dominated season.
For those unaware, Fortnite‘s Heavy Sniper Rifle was an extremely powerful, slow-loading ranged weapon capable of dealing massive amounts of damage to vehicles and structures. While not yet confirmed, the leak from ShiinaBR may be referring to the same leaked Fortnite sniper rifle from a few weeks ago. Another couple of reputable Fortnite leakers and dataminers posted a clip of a new sniper in action, one that supposedly will deal triple damage to vehicles, a feature similar to the game’s original Heavy Sniper Rifle.
Vehicle Battle Royale
While players wait for the potentially vehicle-decimating Heavy Impact Sniper Rifle, another vehicle-oriented weapon has already been added to the game with the Tow Hook Cannon. This unique item allows players to hook onto the back of a vehicle, where they can drift from left to right as well as jump while being towed. Once attached, players can also switch to their other weapons, enabling squads to better utilize two-seaters, and for enemies to latch on and hijack or destroy vehicles much more easily.
With all the build-up of offensive power this season, some Fortnite players want a pair of vaulted items to return: Med-Mist and Chug Splash. A significant number of players on Reddit lamented the loss of the healing items, but with Fortnite‘s constantly shifting item pool, it’s only a matter of time before they return. They may very well need it for when the new sniper arrives.
