July 5 is Going to Be a Big Day for Bandai Namco Fans
Bandai Namco’s Summer Showcase at Anime Expo 2024 will focus on anime-themed titles and feature playable demos of Dragon Ball and Gundam games.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced it will be hosting its own Summer Showcase on July 5 as part of Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles. The presentation by Bandai Namco Entertainment is scheduled to run for an hour and 20 minutes and will focus specifically on anime-themed titles.
Bandai Namco is already set to make major waves in the gaming world with the release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree coming between June 20 and 21, depending on time zone. While the major DLC expansion for Elden Ring, a game that sold more than 25 million copies and won numerous Game of the Year awards, has the gaming world on the edge of its seat, Bandai Namco seems poised to carry that momentum forward with reveals of some of its other products at the panel at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
As detailed in a press release on June 18, the panel will take place on July 5 from 5:30 PM to 6:50 PM Pacific Time in the convention center’s Petree Hall. Those lucky enough to attend the convention will also be the first to get to play some of the games featured in the showcase, which will be set up at multiple booths. While Bandai Namco is keeping mum about the full lineup for the Summer Showcase, the planned hands-on events are for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream, and Gundam Breaker 4, so it can be expected that those three games will make an appearance during the showcase as well.
Games Expected at Bandai Namco Summer Showcase 2024

- Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero
- Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream
- Gundam Breaker 4
Of the three games with playable demos at the expo, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is probably the one with the greatest hype behind it. Carrying on the legacy of the popular Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi series of fighting games, Sparking Zero is set for release on October 11, and it looks to bring back several features from the esteemed series, including giving players dialogue options that can affect cutscenes and the victory conditions of certain battles.
While Sparking Zero may be the game with the most push behind it, Bandai Namco is set to release Gundam Breaker 4 several weeks earlier, on August 29. Featuring more than 250 base kits, a record for the Gundam Breaker series, the game will allow players to customize their mobile suits and collect additional parts from fallen enemies, and the recent Gundam collaboration with Call of Duty may help the game get some added attention from the gaming community. No release date has been given yet for Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream, which is expected before the end of 2024, but it will feature more than 20 different characters from both the anime’s fantasy and modern gunplay-themed arcs, and the developers are touting the game’s co-op raid battles as a key feature for the upcoming game.
