Payday 3 Getting Big Update on June 27
Payday 3’s new update adds fan-favorite character Clover, a Solo Mode, and new heist opportunities.

Developers have announced a brand-new update coming to Payday 3 this month that seeks to reinvigorate the crime-oriented shooter in multiple ways. Notable parts of this new Payday 3 update include the addition of a fan-favorite character and the option to play solo.
Few FPS titles have managed to cultivate a dedicated fanbase quite like Starbreeze and Overkill’s Payday series. Beginning in 2011 with Payday: The Heist, the Payday series seeks to immerse players in the world of an unstoppable group of criminals as they take on some of the world’s most enticing locations. From banks and casinos to the actual White House, Payday offers players an unprecedented amount of freedom when it comes to the places they can rob, as well as the weapons and tools they use. Part of what makes the Payday games popular among fans is the freedom to complete missions as they wish, giving them the ability to go guns blazing or take on missions in a stealthier manner, slipping past completely undetected. A new update to Payday 3 will further energize the game, promising some long-requested features.
A new developer video was shared, with Global Brand Director Almir Listo showing off some of the new features and additions players can expect on June 27. This new update follows many other upgrades to Payday 3 but offers a healthy amount of new content. In the new heist, the Payday Gang will take on a police station “where every stolen gold bar is a statement against authority.” The new paid DLC consists of a new heist, a new weapon pack, and a new tailor pack.
Payday 3 Reveals New Boys in Blue Update
- The Heist Pack with PAYDAY 3: Chapter 2 – Boys in Blue
- The Weapon Pack with 3 new weapons, 26 mods, and 2 cosmetics
- The Tailor Pack with 4 new masks, 4 new suits, and 4 new gloves.
However, all Payday 3 players will also be given access to a new free update. The Boys in Blue update includes the return of Clover, a fan-favorite character in the Payday community. A new LMG will also be added, as will three new masks and the ability to rename player loadouts. One of the biggest improvements in this update is the arrival of a new Solo Mode, which allows players to start games without the need to matchmake.

Payday 3 has had a somewhat troubling time since its release in September of last year. Players encountered a wide range of bugs on launch due to issues with Payday 3‘s servers. Payday 3 also launched with several features missing from previous titles, like the ability to play offline. However, Developer Starbreeze Studios has promised to make the current iteration of the Payday franchise worth players’ time and money, with the game’s upcoming update being a bright light at the end of a long tunnel.
