New Xbox Controller Leaked for August 2024
A new Xbox controller is set to be released in August 2024, according to a reliable insider.

According to a reliable insider, a new Xbox controller is set to be revealed later this month and then released in August 2024. Since the launch of the Xbox Series X, Microsoft has released all kinds of controllers that work with its latest consoles. These controllers are often just re-colors, but there are some with special finishes or completely unique designs as well.
Some of the wilder Xbox Series X controllers have been given away as part of contests and are only available in very limited quantities. The Deadpool & Wolverine Xbox controllers, for example, are part of a giveaway and have “butts” on the back of them. Other Xbox controllers are readily available to the public, which will be the case for the new controller that’s supposedly coming in August 2024.
Dealabs has claimed that a new Xbox controller will be revealed on July 31 and then released in August 2024. There’s no image of the controller to share, but according to Dealabs’ information, the new Xbox controller will be called the Sky Cipher Special Edition controller. It will be blue and “slightly transparent,” with the report pointing to the special transparent Forza Horizon 5 controller as an example of what the Sky Cipher Special Edition controller might look like. The controller is expected to retail for $69.99, and while Dealabs stressed that it doesn’t have an exact release date, the “most likely” launch date for the new Xbox controller is August 13. If the info about the July 31 reveal date is accurate, Xbox fans should learn about the release date at that point too, especially since that’s when pre-orders are expected to open up.
New Xbox Controller Details Leaked

- Blue with a transparent design, like the Forza Horizon 5 controller
- July 31 reveal date
- August 2024 release date, possibly August 13 specifically
- Expected to cost $69.99
The Dealabs report ends by mentioning that the publication doesn’t know if this new Xbox controller will have haptic feedback or not, which is an interesting thing to note. Haptic feedback is a feature popularized by the PS5’s DualSense controller line, and it’s something that Xbox has teased it hopes to integrate in future controllers. Xbox controllers don’t have haptic feedback yet, but many believe that it’s just a matter of time, especially thanks to one particular leak.
A new Xbox controller, codenamed Sebile, was leaked through court documents. The controller is supposed to feature a variety of upgrades compared to the basic Xbox Series X controllers, with haptic feedback being one of its major selling points. Reliable insiders previously suggested that the Xbox Sebile controller would be revealed this past May, but we’re now in July and no such controller has been officially revealed to date. It remains to be seen just when Sebile will be revealed, but in the meantime, it seems Xbox fans can look forward to the Sky Cipher Special Edition controller being shown off on July 31 for release in August 2024.
