Xbox Game Pass Adds Hit Activision Game to Its Catalog
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy hits Xbox Game Pass, and fans rejoice for zany platforming action.

Thanks to leaks, fans already knew it was coming, but Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has finally come to Xbox Game Pass. The 2017 compilation of hit platform games starring a zany marsupial is only the second Activision title added to Xbox Game Pass since Microsoft’s acquisition of the conglomerate in October, but it definitely won’t be the last. One of the most highly anticipated games is of course Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which will be hitting the subscription service as a day-one release on October 25.
In the meantime, many gamers will surely enjoy a bit of platforming with the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. The collection, developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Activision, includes remasters of the first three games in the popular series: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped.
Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy was added to Xbox Game Pass on August 8, joining a diverse library of titles that offers something for every type of gamer. In addition to revamped graphics, the new versions of the classic games feature remastered cutscenes, soundtrack, and voice over work. They also offer quality-of-life improvements like a unified load and save menu, checkpoints, autosaves, and tweaked gameplay, as well as both an unfinished and brand-new level. The compilation, which received predominantly positive reviews when it launched, has remained popular, so much so that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy recently hit 20 million units sold, seven years after release.

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service will be undergoing some major changes very soon. On July 10, Game Pass PC and Ultimate received a price hike — almost exactly a year after a prior increase — which will go into effect for current subscribers on September 12. This means that gamers who were paying $14.99 per month for their Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription in June 2023 will find themselves forking over a whopping $19.99 a month in September 2024. Understandably, many people are now questioning whether the subscription is still worth the price, but others feel the increase is more than justified when considering the value they receive as subscribers.
It’s certainly a matter of personal play preference. Some gamers have revealed that they only play a few Xbox Game Pass titles a year and feel they would ultimately save money by just purchasing individual games. Others take full advantage of the more than 100 games offered in the Ultimate tier, sampling the catalog like foodies at a buffet. For those who like to have a broad choice of titles readily available but are still leery of the raised prices, Xbox Game Pass Core offers a semi-fixed library of about 25 games for $9.99 a month.
