Fortnite’s Chapter 5, Season 4 is called “Absolute Doom” and is heavily Marvel-focused.

This year’s D23 Expo promised some big news for Fortnite fans, and it pretty much delivered. While we didn’t get the rumored Kingdom Hearts collab or Disney Item Store that whipped the fanbase into frenzy earlier this week, Fortnite did use the opportunity to reveal the next season of the game. Announced via a trailer during the event, Chapter 5, Season 4 will be called Absolute Doom and is extremely Marvel-focused, kicking off on August 16.
It’s so Marvel-focused that even Fortnite’s original characters are getting superhero makeovers. Absolute Doom will feature a Jonesy Captain America, as well as a Peely Wolverine (aptly named Peelverine), as the forces of good duke it out with Doctor Doom and his forces of evil. Other characters included in the season are Mysterio, War Machine, Gwenpool, and Black Panther. You can see most of the characters in action in the trailer below.
Doctor Doom popping up in Fortnite won’t be too much of a shock if you’ve been playing recently, as Epic has been teasing another Marvel crossover since Wrecked ended. We also knew that Doctor Doom had the potential to feature heavily in the next couple of seasons, as a roadmap for Fortnite content throughout 2024 was unearthed which displayed his face quite clearly.
The Incredibles And Disney Villains Are Also Coming To Fortnite This Fall

What was surprising was the other Fortnite collaborations that were announced during the show, as Disney and Epic’s relationship grows closer and closer. Not only did Epic confirm that classic Disney villains will be added to the game at some point this Fall, but Pixar also got in on the act by revealing that a few characters from The Incredibles would be added alongside them.
With all this news, and the recent announcement by Epic that Battle Pass unlocks will now appear in the Shop after 18 months, it’s a pretty exciting time to be a Fortnite fan. It’ll be interesting to see what Fortnite has in store for the rest of 2024, but at the very least, we know we’ll get to see Maleficent hit the griddy, and that’s enough on its own for me.
