Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launches on September 9 with special edition players getting early access.

The Year One roadmap for Saber Interactive’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has just been unveiled. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is set to launch on September 9, with those who purchased the title’s special editions being given the opportunity to play a few days ahead of the public.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is the long-awaited sequel to Relic Entertainment’s beloved third-person shooter from 2011. Like its predecessor, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will feature several game modes and provide players with the freedom to customize their genetically enhanced super soldiers seemingly regardless of their loyalty to the Imperium of Man. Even more in-game content and additional features for the grimdark title have already been revealed via a post-release roadmap that was recently provided by its publisher, Focus Entertainment.
According to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2‘s Year One Battle Plan, the game will have four seasons spread across 2024 and 2025. Season 1 arrives in September, adding ultrawide support, private PvE lobbies, and the Battle Barge Sparring Arena to all players for free. Anyone subscribed to the Season Pass, which is included with the Gold, Ultra, and Collectors editions of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, will also receive a cosmetic pack based on the Ultramarines and its successor chapters.

The remaining seasons will follow the same format, providing new game modes, missions, weapons, and other additional in-game content for free while giving Season Pass owners cosmetics. The featured chapters for the third and fourth seasons have yet to be announced, but the paid content for Season 2 will be themed around one of Warhammer 40,000‘s strongest Space Marine chapters, the Dark Angels.
Focus Entertainment’s Year One Battle Plan did not explicitly state that only loyalist groups would receive skins, so it is possible for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2‘s Chaos-aligned chapters to get cosmetic packs in the future as well. Several Traitor Legions have already been confirmed to be in the game, namely the Alpha Legion, Death Guard, Iron Warriors, Night Lords, Thousand Sons, and World Eaters.

Alongside the Orks, the Forces of Chaos were among the major antagonists of the original game, which also starred Demetrian Titus of the Ultramarines. Trailers and other marketing materials for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 have suggested that the followers of the Ruinous Powers may once again play a key role in the upcoming game’s narrative. Saber Interactive’s sequel will follow Titus, now a Primaris lieutenant, as the Fourth Tyranid War unfolds in the Western Reaches of Segmentum Pacificus.
