A number of unfortunate Astro Bot fans have had their limited-edition Astro Bot-themed DualSense controller delayed unexpectedly, leaving most of them without a revised delivery date in sight. The Astro Bot DualSense controller is the latest entry in the PS5’s lineup of special edition controllers, which includes those inspired by other PS5 exclusives like Spider-Man 2 and God of War Ragnarok.
Being one of the most beloved PS5 exclusives to release in recent times, Astro Bot came out to immensely positive reviews on September 6. Alongside the game, Sony also released a limited edition DualSense controller having Astro Bot-inspired looks on the same day. This unique DualSense controller sports a white-and-blue color scheme reminiscent of Astro Bot‘s eponymous protagonist and features a pair of blue dots on the touchpad which resemble Astro Bot‘s eyes. In a disappointing development for fans, it appears that not all who ordered the controller have received it yet, with multiple buyers posting about delayed orders.
Over the past few days on Reddit, several users have come out saying that their Astro Bot controllers have been delayed, with retailers unable to provide a new arrival date in most cases. User EngineerBeginning494 shared that their order from Walmart was facing a delay despite having made the purchase weeks in advance. Upon following up with the retailer, they were given an estimated delivery date of September 14. On the other hand, user Hot-Cause-481 made a post about facing the same issue after pre-ordering the controller on Target on the first day of availability. They stated that their controller was delayed with a new estimated date of September 12. Another user said that their Amazon order for the controller was still in “Order received” status without a delivery date. Dozens of more users commented on such posts, echoing similar concerns and revealing the extent of the delivery delay issue that’s affecting the limited edition controller of 2024’s best-rated game so far.
Astro Bot DualSense Controller Orders Face Delay Amid High Demand
The growing number of such posts in the past few days suggests that the Astro Bot controller delay is not an exceptional case but a considerably prevalent one. Since the same issue clearly exists across multiple outlets, including Walmart, Amazon, and Target, it may be more of a stock shortage problem than a logistics issue with a retailer. This argument is strengthened by the fact that the Astro Bot controller emerged as a hot commodity when pre-orders opened and ran out of stock within hours.

With stellar scores to vouch for its quality, Astro Bot is arguably one of the must-play games out there right now. Rumors of unused cameos possibly coming to Team Asobi’s platformer in the future, hopefully through the previously confirmed free DLC, further place the game in an exciting spot for the forthcoming months.
