Gearbox gives away Shift Codes, offering free Golden and Diamond Keys for Borderlands 3 and other games in the series.

n celebration of Borderlands 3‘s 5th anniversary, Gearbox Software and its CEO Randy Pitchford have given out a couple of Shift Codes that players can redeem for Golden and Diamond Keys. When using these keys in Borderlands 3, players can access tons of in-game loot.
The loot-focused gameplay of the Borderlands series encourages players to ditch their old weapons for something new and shiny. Shift Codes are a great way to do that, offering Diamond and Gold Keys that players can then use in various games to add more powerful weapons to their inventory. Farming legendary locations in Borderlands 3 isn’t for everyone, and Shift Codes make for an easy leg up in the game.
To celebrate the 5th anniversary of Borderlands 3, both the game’s official Twitter account and Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford have tweeted out Borderlands Shift Codes that players can redeem for in-game rewards. The first code is exclusive to Borderlands 3, giving players 5 Golden Keys and 5 Diamond Keys which, when redeemed, offers players the chance to get a bunch of awesome loot. Pitchford’s code gives just three Golden Keys. However, this is for several games in the series, including Borderlands 1, The Pre-Sequel, 2, 3, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

Players looking to use these Shift Codes need to act fast. The Borderlands 3 code will expire on October 13, although Pitchford’s code for the entire Borderlands series is a little more pressing. That code expires on September 19, giving gamer just a few days to redeem these Shift Codes. This can be done either in-game or on the Shift website. Considering it’s totally free to do, anyone currently playing through the games should take advantage of this while they are still active.

Although the recent Borderlands movie adaptation was a disappointment both critically and commercially, there’s still a lot for fans of the series to be excited about. Back in August, Gearbox officially revealed Borderlands 4, which is set to launch in 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The new mainline title will take players beyond the world of Pandora, and can hopefully provide a palette cleanser for fans disappointed by the movie. The existence of Borderlands 4 wasn’t exactly a surprise for many, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting a prospect. It’s always a good time to return to this universe, and hopefully, Borderlands 4 will see it return to top form.
