What’s that? You thought Amazon Prime Day had already been and gone. Yes, technically it has, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait until next year for Amazon‘s next big sale event. You don’t even have to wait for the organized chaos that is Black Friday. That’s because Amazon’s stopgap between the two, Big Deal Days, is back. Running across October 8 and 9, Big Deal Days is an opportunity for those who like to get their holiday shopping out of the way nice and early to bag a few bargains.
Almost anything and everything you could want for less will likely be on sale in some form or fashion on Amazon during Big Deal Days. Tracking down the stuff you want with the biggest discounts is easier said than done, though. To save you trawling Amazon through the two-day event, and during the build to Big Deal Days as a lot of sale prices will go live early, we’ve gathered up some of the best deals available. This particular hub is dedicated to heavily discounted video games, and whether you game on PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch, there should be something available for less for you below.
PS5 And PS4 Games

Final Fantasy 7 Remake
One of the most ambitious remakes in video games to date, Final Fantasy 7 Remake is the first installment in a trilogy that has not only remade the RPG classic for a whole new generation, but has altered its story for those who played the original almost 30 years ago.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure
Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a platformer featuring the star of LittleBigPlanet, launched in 2020 for the PS4 and PS5. It lacks the series’ typical creative features, but does feature both local and online multiplayer.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1
Experience the iconic stealth action franchise with the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 for PS5. Includes Metal Gear Solid 1-3 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, remastered in 4K with improved gameplay, graphics, and cutscenes.

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage
Assassin’s Creed Mirage started life as an expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, Basim’s story became so expansive during development that Ubisoft decided to make Mirage its own game, detailing the events that brought Basim to Eivor.

Sonic Frontiers
Sonic Frontiers drops you into a large open world for the first time in the series, with the aim of collecting the Chaos Emeralds scattered across the Starfall Islands. As always, you’ll have to content with Doctor Eggman and his dastardly plans.
By the time 2024’s Big Deal Days sale begins, the pre-order period for the PS5 Pro will have begun. Some of you might have even been lucky enough to grab one, whether it be the regular model or the PS1-style 30th anniversary model. As great as the latter looks, and as good as the games you play will look on both, they’re expensive consoles, so why not grab some games for it for less while you can?
The PlayStation section of this guide isn’t exclusively for prospective PS5 Pro owners, of course. There are sale games above for those of you with a base PS5, and even for PS4 owners happy to stick around in the last-gen for a little while longer. Even if nothing above has you reaching for your card right now, we’ll be adding more deals to every section during the build to Big Deal Days and throughout once the event is live.
Nintendo Switch Games

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to the Nintendo Switch hit Breath of the Wild. In it, Link must team up with Princess Zelda to rid Hyrule of another threat to its existence.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
The newest and biggest installment in the Mario Kart series so far, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been a juggernaut for Nintendo. Featuring just about every character from the Mushroom Kingdom you could possibly hope for, and twice as many tracks if you pick up the Booster Course Pass.

Star Wars Heritage Pack
The Star Wars Heritage Pack for Nintendo Switch puts seven classic games into the same neat package. Headlined by the two Knights of the Old Republic games and now available both physically and digitally.

Minecraft
Minecraft is the best-selling game of all time, shifting 300 million copies and counting. Available on all platforms, the Switch version of this behemoth of a game lets you keep creating on the go, or just in handheld while the TV is otherwise occupied.

Mario Party Superstars
Mario Party Superstars is the second outing for the multiplayer title on Nintendo Switch, launching in 2021. It features over 100 minigames and brings back several boards from past titles in the series.
Even though the Nintendo Switch was released more than seven years ago, and we know a successor is coming soon even though Nintendo won’t tell us anything about it, its biggest games rarely drop in price. The Switch is almost certainly about to become the best-selling console of all time, 21 of its games have sold more than ten million copies, so Nintendo is doing okay. I think it’ll survive if we grab a few of its games for less.
All of that being said, since Switch games continue to sell well, even when they are on sale, it’s usually only a few dollars saved here and there. With that in mind, we’ve tried to hunt down some of the biggest games on Switch that, even though it might not be by much in most cases, are available for less during Big Deal Days with more to come during the sale event itself.
Xbox Series X|S And Xbox One Games

Elden Ring
With worldbuilding from Game of Thrones scribe George R.R. Martin and developed by FromSoftware, Elden Ring is a masterpiece in what has become known as the ‘Soulslike’ genre of action role-playing games.

Sonic Superstars
Sonic Superstars is an all-new 2D Sonic game, featuring updated graphics. You can play as Sonic, or one of his friends – Amy Rose, Knuckles, or Tails – as you battle the nefarious Dr. Eggman once more.

Call of Duty Vanguard
Just because Call Of Duty gets a new installment every year doesn’t mean older ones should be left behind. In fact, not keeping up with CoD will save you a lot of money. Vanguard is a great example of that right now, heavily discounted for Big Deal Days.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
Most people playing a TMNT game are likely looking for a hit of nostalgia, and Shredder’s Revenge provides that. Not only a game based on the hit series, but a 2D beat ’em up that feels like it was made in the early ’90s. An attack on all fronts for TMNT fans in their early 30s.

LEGO 2K Drive
LEGO 2K Drive is an open-world racing game that features LEGO vehicles and sets. You can unlock new types of vehicles to speed across the various terrains designed to look like the popular play blocks.
The biggest selling point of owning an Xbox is still Game Pass despite its recent price hikes and tier reshuffle. However, if you don’t have Game Pass, whether you were never interested in the first place or the price increases have put you off, you can just treat your Series X|S or Xbox One like a regular console.
Sure, Game Pass is still a great deal, but that really does depend on how often you use it. If you’re only playing a few games a year, then it might be cheaper to just buy those games. Especially when some of those games are on sale, and right now there are some big ones available for less thanks to Big Deal Days. Some of the games above aren’t even available on Game Pass, so grab them for less while you can.
