EA is shutting down NBA Live 18 on November 7.

EA has confirmed that NBA Live 18 is shutting down on November 7. EA keeps a running list of games that are set to have their servers closed in the near future, giving fans the chance to revisit the titles before they’re taken offline. Oftentimes these shutdowns coincide with the game being delisted from digital storefronts, but there are times when the delistings happen well in advance of the online multiplayer services being shut down.
EA has shut down numerous games in 2024 alone, ranging from its older big budget games to smaller but still popular titles like the hit mobile game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. October 2024 is relatively safe from EA shutdowns, though The Simpsons: Tapped Out is being delisted on October 31. November 2024 is a different story, with at least five EA games shutting down next month.
Previously, it was confirmed that FIFA 22 is shutting down on November 4, while Battlefield 3 and the PS3/Xbox 360 versions of Battlefield 4 and Hardline are shutting down on November 7. The latest update to EA’s shutdown list has added NBA Live 18 to the list of games being shut down on November 7, making it a particularly rough day for EA fans.
List of EA Games Shutting Down Soon
- The Simpsons: Tapped Out – October 31 (Delisted)/January 24, 2025 (Shutdown)
- FIFA 22 – November 4
- Battlefield 3 – November 7
- Battlefield 4 (PS3/Xbox 360) – November 7
- Battlefield: Hardline (PS3/Xbox 360) – November 7
- NBA Live 18 – November 7
NBA Live 18 shutting down on November 7 will be especially sad for NBA fans that don’t care for the NBA 2K games, as NBA Live 18 is one of the last remaining EA-made NBA titles with online functionality. Its successor, NBA Live 19, is still online at the time of this writing, though its days may be numbered. After all, NBA Live 19 was released all the way back in 2018, and EA isn’t exactly known for supporting its sports games for all that long. No plans for a new NBA Live game have been announced, and so, whenever that game shuts down, NBA fans will have little choice beyond the NBA 2K series.
The batch of EA games shutting down in November 2024 are, to date, the last batch of EA games closing in 2024. The Simpsons: Tapped Out is the only EA game confirmed to be shutting down in 2025 so far, but it will likely be joined by many other titles, so fans should keep an eye out.
