The GTA 6 parody game, Grand Taking Ages VI, has been removed from the PlayStation Store.

The controversial Grand Theft Auto 6 parody game, Grand Taking Ages VI, has been pulled from the PlayStation Store, but it has made its way to Steam. However, to be accepted on Steam, this Grand Theft Auto 6 parody had to make some tweaks to its presentation and is now slated for release in 2025.

The PlayStation Store has been criticized in the past for allowing low-quality imitations of popular titles, some of which have even undermined the originals. In December, a bizarre Grand Theft Auto 6 parody was listed on the PlayStation Store, presented as a game development simulator where players step into the shoes of developers at major video game studios. The game’s artistic style was an obvious imitation of GTA 6’s banner, while its description on the PlayStation Store included fake awards from major websites.

After more than a month on the platform, PlayStation has now taken action and removed Grand Taking Ages VI from its digital store. However, the game has found its way to Steam—albeit with some minor adjustments. Even though it still satirizes certain Rockstar aspects, such as the extensive development time of GTA 6, Valve required certain tweaks, including the removal of “VI” from the title. The game’s logo, description, and presentation were also updated to further distinguish it from GTA 6.

Speaking to IGN, developer Violarte mentioned that the team had to rethink its approach to align Grand Taking Ages with Steam’s guidelines. However, Violarte openly acknowledged that its game is a parody of the highly anticipated GTA 6, stating that parodies can both celebrate and entertain players. The developer also stated that, after a number of adjustments, they would like to have the game relisted on the PlayStation Store.

On its new Steam page, Violarte provided a detailed description of what players can expect from Grand Taking Ages, describing it as a “reality-based game development simulator.” The game promises to offer players an experience that takes them from running a small indie studio to transforming it into a massive AAA company. Even though Grand Taking Ages is a clear critique of certain industry practices—such as Rockstar’s silence regarding GTA 6—the game seems to go beyond Rockstar, mocking major game developers in general.

According to its Steam description, Grand Taking Ages is set to release before October 2025. While it has adapted its presentation to fit Steam’s guidelines, it remains to be seen whether the game will stir further controversy in the future.
