Marvel Rivals may introduce Nightcrawler as a Duelist, offering unique abilities like teleporting in and out of battles.

A prominent Marvel Rivals leaker surprised fans by claiming that Nightcrawler may be coming to the popular hero shooter as a Duelist. Marvel Rivals recently launched its Spring Festival event, which has added a new game mode, free rewards, and fresh challenges for players to enjoy. Fans looking to jump in on the action may want to act quickly, as the event runs from January 23 through February 14.

Marvel Rivals‘ Duelists have the primary job of dishing out as much damage as possible to stack up eliminations throughout a match. While they may have the same goal, there are a wide range of DPS heroes with vastly different ability kits. For instance, Spider-Man is what many players refer to as a dive hero, utilizing superior mobility to outmaneuver enemies while getting in and out of fights. Meanwhile, Punisher focuses on his ranged abilities, setting up a turret to take out his foes from a distance.

In a recent post on Twitter, popular leaker X0X_LEAK claimed to have found evidence that Nightcrawler could be coming to the game as a Duelist. While there’s no way of knowing exactly what the character’s ability kit might look like, the mutant is known for his power to teleport in the comics, movies, and television shows. Some gamers feel it’s possible that Nightcrawler’s moveset could be similar to Magik, who uses portals to maneuver around the battlefield while simultaneously attacking foes. Many fans are already eagerly awaiting the arrival of Nightcrawler in Marvel Rivals, even going so far as to create concept art of the popular mutant.

Nightcrawler Could Be Coming to Marvel Rivals

X0X_LEAK also claims to have found files for other X-Men coming to Marvel Rivals, such as Rogue, Gambit, and Jubilee. While there’s no way of confirming such information, the leaker has stated that Gambit will debut as a Duelist while Rogue will become one of the title’s signature Strategists. Outside Human Torch and The Thing, who are expected to arrive in an upcoming update, there’s no release schedule for future characters.

Despite only being in Season 1, NetEase Games has already shown that it intends to grow and expand the hero shooter at a rapid pace. The developers recently stated that players can expect to see a new hero in Marvel Rivals every six weeks, which means two characters will be added every season. While many players feel this is an ambitious goal, the community was largely excited about the news, as Marvel has a deep roster of heroes and villains to pull from. With so much content on the way, many fans are optimistic about the future of the game.
