Fortnite may be gearing up for a Blade Runner crossover.

Fortnite could have a Blade Runner crossover in the works. A series of rumors over the past few weeks have detailed all sorts of incoming collabs, from King of the Hill to Kaiju No. 8 — with the latter getting confirmed not long after leaks suggested it. If current rumblings prove to be true, the hits are going to keep coming for Fortnite with content from Ridley Scott’s iconic cyberpunk franchise.
Epic Games‘ battle royale shooter has crossed over with beloved sci-fi franchises before, including adding Star Trek‘s Vulcan salute and a slew of Star Wars character skins. While some thought Fortnite had the perfect opportunity for a Blade Runner event during its “Mega” chapter, fans weren’t so lucky. However, Epic may be about to make up for that missed opportunity.
Leaker NotPalo tweeted that Blade Runner was on its way to Fortnite on January 25. While they didn’t specify which specific movie in the franchise would appear in the game, the accompanying image makes it seem like the more recent Blade Runner 2049 would be the one. Another noted leaker, HYPEX, followed up with similar news a few minutes later, saying a Blade Runner 2049 collab is in development. There’s no official word from Epic on whether the rumors are true, but leakers accurately predicted Fortnite‘s Hatsune Miku collab, among others, in recent weeks, so there could be something to them.
Leakers Suggest a Fortnite and Blade Runner Crossover is in the Works

Neither leaker said when fans can expect the Blade Runner crossover or what it would entail, but Ryan Gosling’s Officer K or Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard would be obvious choices for player skins. In the bigger picture, a collaboration between Fortnite and the legendary cyberpunk franchise would make a lot of sense as a way to drum up publicity for the latter. Amazon’s Blade Runner show has cast its leads and could finally get off the ground before long after production delays. Adding classic Blade Runner characters to Fortnite could keep it in pop culture consciousness before the series gets further along and can release more promotional material.
Regardless of whether the Fortnite rumors are true, Blade Runner will be coming to the gaming space before too long. Stray publisher Annapurna Interactive is working on a Blade Runner game that will take place between the original movie and 2049. The last game to take on the franchise came out in 1997 — though it got an enhanced edition in 2022 — so it’s a long time coming. Fans of the series could finally be getting the video game content they’ve lacked for years.
