Human Torch may get a ‘Negative Zone Gladiator’ costume when he’s added to Marvel Rivals on February 21.

A popular dataminer in the Marvel Rivals community has revealed that Human Torch may be receiving a “Negative Zone Gladiator” costume when he makes his debut in the popular hero shooter. Human Torch is expected to arrive in the game when Marvel Rivals releases a large mid-season update on February 21. NetEase Games has also announced that a new map and numerous balance changes will be released at the same time.
While unconfirmed, many fans expect that Human Torch will be a Duelist in Marvel Rivals. This is based on a leak from 2024 in which the hero’s ability kit was prematurely revealed. The leak also claimed that Human Torch may be able to create walls of flame on the battlefield, allowing him to add some zone control to his team. He may also have a shared ability with Storm that allows him to create flaming tornadoes to use against his foes. As these are just rumors, they should be taken with a grain of salt. NetEase Games could have altered the hero’s abilities significantly, assuming the information was ever true at all.
In a recent post on Twitter, the prominent leaker X0X_LEAK revealed that Marvel Rivals‘ Human Torch could be given a darker style based on his time in the Negative Zone from the comics. The classic version of the outfit is black and doesn’t have any logo signifying his inclusion in The Fantastic Four. Bright straps of flame also wrap around his waist and shoulders. It’s a battle-hardened look for a hero who is usually considered to be lighthearted.
Human Torch Could Receive a Negative Zone Costume in Marvel Rivals
Many fans have been wondering if NetEase Games would give Human Torch a darker outfit upon release. When Marvel Rivals‘ Invisible Woman came to the game, she received a skin for her menacing alter ego, Malice. Likewise, Mister Fantastic was given a costume for one of his variants called The Maker, an evil version of Reed Richards from Marvel’s Ultimate timeline.
Human Torch won’t be making his debut alone as Marvel Rivals’ The Thing will also be coming to the game on February 21. Many fans seem to think the character will be a Vanguard, as his bulky build and durable nature seem to make him a good fit for the role. It has also been rumored that the hero will be coming with an iconic costume that shows the hero in a tan broad-brimmed hat and long trench coat. With a wealth of new content just around the corner and even more on the way, many fans are looking forward to seeing what NetEase Games does next.
