NetEase Games plans to support Marvel Rivals for at least 10 years.

NetEase Games has revealed plans to support Marvel Rivals for at least 10 years, ensuring an exciting future for fans of the hero shooter. Since its launch in late 2024, Marvel Rivals has been a massive success, having pulled in over 40 million players and establishing itself in the gaming scene. Fans should have plenty of content to look forward to in the future as NetEase continues to expand the game’s universe.

Even this early in the game’s life, Marvel Rivals has seen significant updates, introducing new characters, skins, and maps. NetEase has added a variety of characters, including unknown and popular heroes alike. Thanks to leaks and datamines, fans have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the future. Recently it was discovered that Odin’s lost daughter Angela may be coming to Marvel Rivals. Outside of leaks, NetEase has teased additions itself, such as a possible Hellfire Gala theme for the next season.

A variety of new updates are planned to come for at least the next 10 years, which was revealed in NetEase’s recent Q4 earnings call. This news has been received positively by fans because Marvel Rivals has proved to be massively successful. Beyond the timeframe of support for the game, not much else was shared on updates to come. However, based on the updates since launch, players have a pretty good idea of what to expect.

What to Expect From Marvel Rivals in the Future

Marvel Rivals launched with an impressive roster of 33 characters and has since added the entirety of The Fantastic Four. The game’s first season has focused on Marvel’s First Family, gradually adding the members throughout. However, adding four characters over two months is not planned to be the norm, with NetEase intending to add a new character to Marvel Rivals roughly every 45 days, meaning fans can expect around eight characters a year. Over the next decade, this could result in nearly 80 characters being added to the character roster. Beyond new characters, players can anticipate a variety of new maps, skins, and seasonal events to be added throughout the years.

With decades of stories to pull from, NetEase should have no problem supporting the game for the next decade. Just recently, NetEase added wedding-themed skins to Marvel Rivals to celebrate Valentine’s Day. After this, fans saw the additions of Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm. While characters are by far some of the more anticipated additions, new skins are always welcome.
