Destiny 2: Xur Exotic Armor, Weapon, and Recommendations for March 7

Xur is back in Destiny 2 with new gear for players to explore for a limited time.

Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Next week promises to be a big one for players with an influx of new content outside of the arrival of Act 2. Bungie also confirmed that the 2025 edition of Guardian Games for Destiny 2 is also set to launch, bringing back the Medallion competition with a few new twists and rewards as well.

On top of that, players still have Destiny 2‘s Moments of Triumph to work through. After launching during the first March reset, players have had the opportunity to work through any of the challenges they’ve yet to organically complete and, as in years past, there are various rewards to unlock at set milestone numbers, including this year’s seal, a Bungie Rewards shirt, and other in-game items.

In the meantime, however, the exotic merchant Xur is back with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of March 7, 2025.

Where is Xur?

Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there’s no more hunting when the weekend comes around.

Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are hanging out and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley hiding Xur is to the right.

Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

The Stag – Warlock helmet

Exotic Perk:

Dearly Departed – Your Rift provides damage reduction to allied Guardians standing in it. Grants Rift energy when you are critically wounded. On your death, creates a healing rift on your corpse.

Usually a tough sell and it won’t compete with many of the current “in meta” exotics during Episode Heresy. Still, the roll is pretty good this week at a 67, so at the very least, it could replace some worse/collection roll versions.

Ophidia Spathe – Hunter chest armor

Exotic Perk:

Scissor Fingers – Gain a second knife per charge. Getting a final blow with a throwing knife grants consecutive knives a temporary stacking damage bonus. Gambler’s Dodge refreshes the bonus timer.

A solid pick for Gunslinger Hunters as it gives a second knife charge and a damage bonus for those who manage to get final blows with them. In addition, the roll this week is very high at a 68 total, so it’s a solid pickup.

Citan’s Ramparts – Titan gauntlets

Exotic Perk:

Assault Barricade – You and allies can shoot through your Towering Barricade. Your Towering Barricade takes increased damage from Guardians.

Probably a better option for PvP-style activities, the big problem with this one is the fairly low roll at a 61. Because of that, it’s a tough sell this week and one that can likely be skipped.

Xur Inventory Items

Xur’s Exotic Weapons

Year 7’s Xur revamp has also added the ability to offer multiple exotic weapons in one visit. Here is what Xur has this weekend:

Hawkmoon – Hand Cannon

Paracausal Shot – Final blows and precision hits with Hawkmoon grant stacks of Paracausal Charge. The final round in the magazine deals bonus damage based on the number of stacks. Stowing Hawkmoon on the final round removes this bonus.

The Jade Rabbit – Scout Rifle

The Fate of All Fools – Chain precision shots to gain bonus damage on your next body shot and return ammo to the mag.
Zen Moment – Causing damage with this weapon reduces recoil and flinch over time.

Hard Light – Auto Rifle

Volatile Light – Rounds fired from this weapon have reduced damage falloff, overpenetrate targets, and ricochet off hard surfaces. Projectile damage increases after bounce.
The Fundamentals – Holding reload changes this weapon’s damage type, cycling between Void, Arc, and Solar. Grants this weapon temporarily increased damage when you apply or gain an elemental buff or debuff that matches this weapon’s damage type.

Two-Tailed Fox – Rocket Launcher

Twintails – Shoots two rockets, one Void and one Solar, that can track onto the same target.
Play With Your Prey – The Void rocket suppresses enemies. The Solar rocket causes damage over time.
