Destiny 2 Players Have Request for Banshee 44
Fans feel Banshee-44 lacks utility in Destiny 2 currently.
New discussion has recently been sparked regarding one of Destiny 2‘s oldest vendors, with many fans suggesting how the Tower’s amnesiac gunsmith, Banshee-44, could be made more useful as the multiplayer FPS title progresses into its 11th year. As a resident of the original Tower, Banshee has been keeping Destiny 2 players’ guns running smoothly since the very start, and while his services have evolved over the years, many fans feel that he doesn’t offer much utility in the game’s current era.
Players have always been able to purchase various weapons from Banshee, though typically his selections don’t include anything too wild. The rarest and most powerful of weapons tend to be obtained through all kinds of endgame activities, though Banshee has long played a part in helping players obtain certain exotic weapons in Destiny 2. While he doesn’t simply hand such treasures out for free, he has proven instrumental in fixing up certain quest-related exotics over the years, including The Lament sword.

How Destiny 2’s Gunsmith Could Be Improved in 2025

Allowing players to further customize weapons by adding certain attachments or switching up the sights is among the most popular suggestions, though many others think it would be fitting for Banshee to be capable of rerolling a weapon’s perks to some extent. This could involve allowing copies of the same weapon to be combined to produce a single weapon with a desirable selection of perks, or even allowing certain breeds of weapons in Destiny 2 – such as typical world drops – to gain perks they wouldn’t normally roll with.
After weapon crafting in Destiny 2 was introduced with The Witch Queen expansion a few years ago, many found it somewhat strange that Banshee had no real involvement with the mechanic. Similarly, the function of trading for advanced upgrade materials – including Ascendant Alloys – was assigned to the Tower’s Cryptarch instead of its resident firearms expert. Fans are confident that Bungie could introduce some interesting new functionalities for Banshee, but as it is now, the gunsmith is mostly visited only to purchase upgrade modules or the occasional god roll.
