The Getaway LTM made a comeback in Fortnite’s latest update, now with a ranked mode.

A new update has dropped for Fortnite, making a few changes to how the game’s latest season works, though it also brings back the fan-favorite LTM The Getaway. Players can hop into the beloved mode right now as part of Fortnite‘s new March 11th update, which keeps The Getaway mostly intact while making a few notable changes.
While Battle Royale is Fortnite‘s most popular mode, Epic Games has worked hard to introduce exciting new ways to play the game. While these changes started slowly with the arrival of ranked and tournament modes, Epic Games has continued to push the envelope, with Fortnite now featuring Reload, Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival, and its very own open-world LEGO survival experience, among others. While these modes have become core parts of Fortnite, others only make a brief appearance, with The Getaway being one of the game’s most popular limited-time game modes. The Getaway has returned in Fortnite‘s newest update, though there’s one major change players will instantly notice.
The Getaway has finally returned to Fortnite as part of a new Chapter 6 Season 2 update. The Getaway tasks players with retrieving one of four Crystal Llama Jewels, which can be found spread across the island. Players work together in teams of four to track these items down. Once acquired, players will need to escape with their jewels in a Getaway Van. Victory is achieved by either escaping or eliminating the remaining players, making Fortnite‘s The Getaway a fun and intense experience. However, The Getaway has returned in a slightly different capacity, this time coming as a Ranked game mode.
The Getaway Returns in New Fortnite Update
This means that players will be able to climb the ranks while playing The Getaway, which will raise the stakes of what had historically been a casual-oriented game mode. However, Ranked Getaway matches will not unlock any extra items or styles for existing Ranked rewards, making it, just like Fortnite Festival and other special game modes, a fun detour for those looking for something other than Battle Royale matches. The Getaway won’t be here for long, with the LTM set to leave once again on April 1, meaning players don’t have much time to lock in and see what it has to offer.

While The Getaway will be leaving at the beginning of April, Fortnite‘s Chapter 6 Season 2 update will last until May 2, 2025, giving players a considerable chunk of time to complete their quests and progress through the battle pass. Each new battle pass has included an array of fresh faces as well as iconic characters, with Fortnite‘s latest being no different. Alongside new characters and variants of skins, the final tier of the current battle pass includes Sub-Zero of Mortal Kombat fame, continuing the tradition of bringing gaming legends to Fortnite.
