Lara Croft might finally be coming back to Fortnite.

Most skins come back to Fortnite eventually, even if there are years between appearances in the item shop. Lara Croft might well be the exception to that rule for several reasons. There’s a silver lining, though. While it probably won’t be the original Tomb Raider skin, clues pointing to an all new Lara Croft crossover have been discovered in the latest Fortnite update.
Fortnite leaker Shiina was the first to pick up on a clue that might indicate a new Lara Croft skin is incoming. They discovered a description that reads, “A globetrotting archaeologist with a penchant for dangerous adventures.” While it doesn’t mention Croft by name, Shiina has claimed it’s the first sign that the Tomb Raider will return to Fortnite soon.
You may well have seen players running around the island as various versions of Lara Croft, but probably not all that much. A skin based on the Tomb Raider lead’s look in the series’ 2013 reboot was unlockable via battle pass progression during Chapter 2, Season 6. Croft was the first video game character to crossover into Fortnite during that season, which ended in June 2021, with the likes of Kratos, Master Chief, and Solid Snake among many to follow in her footsteps since.
Lara Croft Might Finally Be Coming Back To Fortnite
It’s Been Four Years, And Her Older Skins Have All Been Lost To Time

25th anniversary, gold anniversary, and low poly Lara Croft skins were also available, but all have been lost to time unless you have been playing Fortnite since 2021 and managed to unlock those skins four years ago. The Lara Croft skins have never been available through the Item Shop which means if you didn’t unlock them at the first time of asking, they have been unavailable to you.
That probably isn’t going to change. The takeaway from today’s leak is that a new Tomb Raider crossover will include an entirely different Lara Croft skin. That might be a reworked version of one of the skins that already exists, or it could be a completely different version of the iconic video game lead. With almost 30 years worth of games, shows, and movies to choose from, there are a lot of Lara Crofts Epic could turn into a new Fortnite skin.
It does feel a little odd that this leak appears to have been spun from one sentence hinting at the imminent arrival of a famous archaeologist. With Indiana Jones and The Great Circle rumored to be hitting PS5 next month, there’s every chance the line could be teasing a new Indy skin. Perhaps Shiina has seen more than just the archaeologist line but isn’t letting on.
