Over the past 10 hours, Fortnite players have reported issues with matchmaking, logging in, and more.

Update 17:51 BST 29/03/25 – Fortnite’s servers seem to have been fixed, as Fortnite Status is now suggesting players jump back in.
Fortnite players have been reporting widespread issues with matchmaking, logging in, and selecting games for more than 10 hours now, and Epic has confirmed that it’s investigating what the issue is.
Considering how many players Fortnite has on a daily basis as one for the biggest online games of all time, you’d be surprised at how rare it is for any major issues to pop up. Epic generally does a very good job keeping the servers running and in good shape, even with all of the changes that happen during Seasons and Chapters.
That makes it rather noticeable when an issue does occur, which is exactly what’s been happening over the past day or so. For a while now, Fortnite players have been reporting that the game is down for them, and that they’re having major issues matchmaking, logging in, or viewing game modes.
Fortnite Has Been Down For More Than 10 Hours Now
It Always Has To Happen On A Weekend, Huh?
As pointed out by reliable Fortnite insider HYPEX, Fortnite has been down for more than 10 hours now for a lot of players, who have taken to social media to report issues with playing the game, joining lobbies with friends, and more. While it seems that some players can get in, a lot of people are simply not able to access the online modes right now.
Note
Weirdly, I was able to play Fortnite myself a few hours ago without any issues. I was playing solo, mind, but I wasn’t even aware of the outage until others reported it.
The issue has become so widespread that it’s caught Epic’s attention, as the official Fortnite Status account shared an update confirming that it was “aware” of the issues and currently investigating them. That tweet was made around five hours ago now, so it seems the issue still hasn’t quite been figured out.
A quick look at Down Detector, Twitter, and Reddit shows that a lot of players are still unable to access Fortnite, so it seems like it might be a slightly longer outage than most expected. We’ll keep an eye out and update you as soon as Epic says anything, or when players report that it’s coming back to life for them.
