A new Pokemon TCG “Inferno X” set has been leaked with a new trademark, potentially featuring Mega Evolutions from Pokemon X & Y.

A new Pokemon TCG set has been leaked ahead of its launch in fall 2025, with a potential release date planned for October at the earliest. The newly filed trademark for the Pokemon TCG set also implies that it will feature Mega Evolutions from Pokemon X & Y for Nintendo 3DS.
2025 will be another eventful year for Pokemon TCG with many expansions and sets to be released. The Pokemon TCG Destined Rivals expansion will release in May 2025 with over 240 cards, and the Black Bolt and White Flare sets are expected to release this summer, with June being the targeted release month. A recent trademark suggests another new Mega Evolution set is planned for release later this year in Japan as well.
The Pokemon Company filed a new trademark for “Inferno X” in Japan, as spotted by PokeBeach, and the trademark appears to reference a new Pokemon TCG set. If leaks involving the Japanese Pokemon TCG release schedule are true, the Inferno X set could be released sometime in October or November featuring older Mega Evolution cards. Mega Charizard X and other popular Mega Evolutions from Pokemon X & Y are rumored to be potential inclusions in the set. Trademarks are typically published six to nine months before the respective Pokemon TCG sets are released, but it’s worth noting that these trademarks can be published out of order. As a result, the release timing is purely speculative until The Pokemon Company officially confirms dates for the sets in Japan.
Pokemon TCG “Inferno X” Mega Evolution Set Could Be Released Later This Year
- The trademark suggests the new Inferno X set could be released in October or November 2025 in Japan.
- Mega Charizard X and other popular Mega Evolutions are rumored for the set.
First announced at the Pokemon Presents presentation on February 27, the new Pokemon TCG Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia sets are planned for release in August, featuring Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir. Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia are the first two Pokemon TCG Mega Evolution sets of the year, and more are expected to be released leading up to the launch of Pokemon Legends: Z-A for Nintendo Switch. Mega Charizard is one of the confirmed Mega Evolutions for the new game, and the likelihood of it appearing in the Mega Evolution series of Pokemon TCG sets is quite high due to the Pokemon’s popularity.
A release schedule for the new Mega Evolution series remains unclear for regions outside Japan, but The Pokemon Company did confirm that Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia will be available in 2025 worldwide. The company is also maximizing Pokemon TCG production in an effort to increase product availability and combat high demand. What’s more, the company is planning to print more stock of previously released Pokemon TCG products for the Pokemon Center online store and retailers like GameStop.
