Blue Prince, the highest-rated new game release of 2025 so far, will be available on PS Plus Extra and Xbox Game Pass on April 10.
n Thursday, April 10, both the Extra tier of PlayStation Plus and the Ultimate tier of Xbox Game Pass will be treated to the critically-acclaimed Blue Prince, currently the highest-rated new game release of the year. Day one games come to both PS Plus Extra and Xbox Game Pass, but it’s a rare occasion for the services to get the same day one game, like Blue Prince, simultaneously.
While it’s rare for PS Plus Extra and Game Pass Ultimate to get the same day one games, it’s not unheard of. In fact, some fans may recall when Sea of Stars was released for both PS Plus Extra and Game Pass on the day of its release back in 2023. The next time PS Plus and Game Pass will share a day one game is nearly upon us, with Blue Prince set to launch on April 10.
Blue Prince is a new puzzle game set to launch on April 10 for PlayStation Plus Extra and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate/PC Game Pass. The game has yet to be released at the time of this writing, but critic reviews are out, and it’s earned a great deal of critical acclaim. While there are still reviews left to be counted for Blue Prince, review aggregate site OpenCritic currently has it listed at an impressive 92 overall rating based on 25 reviews. There’s still time for the score to fluctuate, but as of now, this makes Blue Prince the highest-rated new game release of 2025 to date, ahead of the beloved co-op adventure Split Fiction.
Blue Prince is Getting Rave Reviews
Hype for Blue Prince has been building for a while now. Blue Prince trailers painted a picture of an intriguing puzzle adventure, but the game was boosted after getting the approval of former PlayStation exec Shuhei Yoshida. Blue Prince was praised by Yoshida as a potential Game of the Year contender, and if the reviews are any indication, that assessment may have been right on the money. With Blue Prince earning such glowing reviews, it’s especially great that gamers on PlayStation and Xbox can play it through their subscriptions and don’t even have to buy it separately.
Blue Prince is just one new game coming to PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass in April 2025. The new PS Plus Extra and Premium games for April 2025 have yet to be announced, but fans should find out more about them later this week. In the meantime, Xbox Game Pass is getting South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Grand Theft Auto 5, and a few other titles this month.
