GTA 6 Listed for Super High Price at Retailer

Games Gaming News

A Swedish retailer listed GTA 6 for a price equivalent to roughly $115 USD.

If a recent retail listing is to be believed, the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 could be a very expensive game. Grand Theft Auto 6 is still without a release date at the time of this writing, but the highly-anticipated open world game is still set for a fall 2025 release. Assuming GTA 6 meets its fall 2025 release window, it will mark a whopping 12 years between entries in the extremely popular franchise.

The sheer amount of time Grand Theft Auto fans have had to wait for a new entry in the series has propelled GTA 6 hype to dizzying heights. Reports have indicated that various game publishers are ready to delay their games to avoid the GTA 6 release date, and the game is likely to break records when it finally does hit the market. However, if GTA 6 is as expensive as some have predicted, that might throw a wrench in things for some players.

With Mario Kart World retailing for $90 physically and $80 digitally, there have been rumblings that Rockstar Games is going to price Grand Theft Auto 6 for $100 at launch. Nothing official has been said about the GTA 6 price at the time of this writing, but Swedish retailer BrackCH posted a listing for GTA 6 that reveals a price point for the game that translates to roughly $115 USD. This is most likely just a placeholder listing, though it is definitely possible that GTA 6 will cost $100 or more at launch, so fans should brace themselves just in case.

GTA 6 Retail Listing

If Grand Theft Auto 6 does cost $100 at launch, it is unlikely to have that much of an impact on the game’s sales. As previously mentioned, GTA 6 hype is through the roof, and the game is poised to be one of the biggest video game releases of all time. If GTA 6 releases in fall 2025 as planned, there’s pretty much no doubt that it will be the best-selling game of the year, even though it is only releasing for PS5 and Xbox Series X. $100 may price out some fans, but it’s safe to say that the vast majority of individuals will buy GTA 6 even if it’s released at such a high price.

Video game prices are more chaotic than usual right now. The Nintendo Switch 2 game prices have thrown things out of whack, and the Trump tariffs also have the potential to make games more expensive. With these factors in mind, it wouldn’t be surprising if Grand Theft Auto 6 was released with a $100 price tag, but hopefully the game launches at the normal $70 price as most other big budget games nowadays.
