Hollow Knight: Silksong updates hint at potential launch before September 2025.

After a lifetime of silence, Hollow Knight: Silksong enjoyers are feasting. The game received an update on Steam for the first time in six years, appeared at Nintendo’s Switch 2 event, albeit briefly, and was later confirmed to be coming to the original Switch. We also got another hint that the game would be launching before September 2025. This was all over the course of two weeks.
But the good news doesn’t stop there, as a new listing on a Polish retail website has indicated that Silksong may, in fact, be getting a physical release.
Polish Retail Pre-Orders Indicate That Hollow Knight: Silksong May Get A Physical Launch

While not immediately, Hollow Knight got a physical launch on both the Nintendo Switch and other consoles, so news that Hollow Knight: Silksong could be doing the same should come as no surprise, but until right now, there had been no indication that this would be the case.
That was until Polish retailer RTV Euro AGD added a listing for the game that suggests it will be coming on a cartridge. While the product listing alone offers no guarantee Silksong is launching physically, and it could simply be a mistake, it does state that it is being distributed by CQE Poland, the country’s official Nintendo Switch distributor, which adds an air of legitimacy to things. However, again, this could be automated.
We’ll throw this one in the maybe pile.
If Hollow Knight: Silksong does launch physically, it will be interesting to see how it is priced. Since the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2, rampant discussion has taken place online about Nintendo’s pricing of physical games on the platform. To combat rising costs, the company is adding a premium to its already expensive games if they are purchased physically, a move that hasn’t gone down well at all. At least we know they’ll still have the trust Switch cartridge taste.
