A regular Apex Legends leaker claims that Titanfall 3 is “almost complete,” but a notable journalist has described the claims as “not real.”

Half-Life 3. Portal 3. Metal Gear Solid 6. When you think of new entries in beloved gaming series that people are desperate to see, these are some of the names that are regularly conjured up. Right up there as well is Titanfall 3 – something we know was briefly worked on at Respawn Entertainment before being scrapped in favor of its live service hit Apex Legends. Now, a rumor is circulating that claims that Titanfall 3 is back on the cards, with a campaign and multiplayer modes, and apparently it’s close to completion. However, don’t get too excited, because a reliable insider has just shot down these claims.
A few days back, a few small rumors about Titanfall 3 began to surface from a couple of notable Apex Legends leakers. Today, April 9, one of them who’s known as ‘Osvaldatore’ dropped an absolute bomb, claiming that this new FPS game was “almost complete.” They say that Titanfall 3 would be powered by Unreal Engine 5, feature a full single-player campaign, have a swathe of multiplayer modes (including an extraction mode) and live service support, feature cameos from Apex Legends characters, and have a weather system.
That’s salivating stuff, but despite Osvaldatore’s fairly solid track record with Apex Legends leaks, I had some immediate doubts. We know that the game was originally canceled so that Respawn could create Apex, and there were reliable reports that another single-player game in the Titanfall universe was also axed in 2023. For Titanfall 3 to have been revived, and developed to the point where it is “almost done,” in such a short time frame seems very unlikely.
Now, notable gaming journalist and insider Jeff Grubb says that the leaks are simply “not real.” On the latest episode of Game Breaking News, he explains what he believes is actually happening behind the scenes at Respawn. “There is a skunkworks team headed up by Titanfall 1 director Steve Fukuda. He’s got a small team over there that is probably messing around with games that have Titans in them… Does he have something like a prototype that has Titans in it? I would guess so. I would certainly assume that that is a safe thing to think. Now, is that going to get announced in 2025 and released in 2026? No way.”
“Do not expect an Unreal Engine 5, single-player campaign Titanfall 3 with a full multiplayer suite [and] weather, whatever that means – I’m not sure where this is coming from,” he adds.
Consider yet another Titanfall gut punch well and truly delivered. Being the Titanfall (and Apex Legends) lover that I am, I really hope that Grubb is wrong on this one and Osvaldatore is correct. But it really does seem extremely unlikely, even without Grubb’s perspective on the matter, that Titanfall 3 would be anywhere near close to completion with the suite of features that Osvaldatore claims. With EA’s CEO saying a few months back that an “Apex Legends 2.0” is on the cards, I wonder if maybe some of the features Fukuda’s team is allegedly working on may appear in that project down the line. But as far a fully fledged Titanfall 3? I wouldn’t get too excited.
