MLB The Show 25 received a recent update enhancing gameplay mechanics and fixing bugs for a better player experience.

MLB The Show 25, the newest chapter in the long-standing baseball franchise, just released a fresh update for April 2025. This patch for MLB The Show 25 brings bug fixes, quality-of-life changes, and gameplay adjustments to improve the overall experience for players.
MLB The Show 25 launched in March as the 20th entry in the series, marking a significant step forward for the franchise. Multiple MLB stars appear on the cover this time – a first for the franchise – and San Diego Studio keeps delivering that sharp, real baseball feel players expect. MLB The Show 25 also added more to Road to the Show mode, as players can now start playing in high school, adding a more personal progression toward the Majors.
To further improve the player experience in MLB The Show 25, the development team has just released Game Update 7. Players now have access to the 2025 San Francisco Giants City Connect uniforms, one of several general improvements included in this update. The team fixed bugs like items showing as locked or unlocked incorrectly, and they addressed a framerate drop tied to players with dreadlocks appearing on the field. Additionally, hair physics have been enhanced for Xbox Series S players.
Road to the Show and Diamond Dynasty Gets Polished
Road to the Show and Diamond Dynasty get their own upgrades too. In Road to the Show, regular season stats stop showing up in the post-season, and players won’t jump from AA to AAA after a trade by mistake anymore. The update fixes a freeze in opening scenes and stops the game from locking up when a second controller connects in the menus. Over in MLB The Show 25‘s Diamond Dynasty, Diamond Quest sees improvements such as the removal of repeated moments, fixes for screen flickering, and changes to perk rewards so players no longer receive duplicate perks in the same rarity tier. Also, players can now earn PXP and Peanuts from Mini Bosses, and treasure rewards shift to focus on stadium challenges first.
The latest update for MLB The Show 25 also sharpens gameplay mechanics with changes players will notice. The Perfect Accuracy Region now keeps perfect pitches right where they’re aimed, staying true to the target area. Substitution screens won’t blank out anymore after swapping a pitcher, and preset PCI Anchor settings stay saved when the game starts up. Catchers stop freezing in block animations during bunts, and intentional walks no longer mess with the pitch clock. The patch also resolves audio problems and refines presentation elements like crowd behavior following the National Anthem. All of this should add up to an improved experience for players.
