D&D has released errata for 2024 rulebooks, with wording corrections and spell/monster balance changes.

Dungeons and Dragons has officially released its first batch of errata for the 2024 core rulebooks, including plenty of wording corrections, as well as balance adjustments for several spells and monsters. These changes will be reflected in all future physical printings of the Dungeons and Dragons 2024 Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s Guide, and Monster Manual, and can already be found on digital sources like D&D Beyond.
On February 18, D&D officially finished its 10th anniversary rules refresh for 5th Edition with the release of the 2025 Monster Manual. This tome, together with the 2024 Player’s Handbook and Dungeon Master’s Guide, make up the core rulebooks for the evergreen update to 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons.
Now that the books are out, Dungeons and Dragons has officially released its first batch of errata for them. Akin to a video game update or patch for the text found in the books, the Player’s Handbook received a slew of changes, including clarity adjustments to several feats and the Rules Glossary. The Creature Statblocks in Appendix B have been replaced with their new Monster Manual counterparts, and several spells in the new D&D Player’s Handbook have been updated, including nerfs to several Conjure spells and a fix to the temporary hit point abuse previously capable with Polymorph spells. The Dungeon Master’s Guide, on the other hand, did not get much, with only a small adjustment to chasing rules and a typo fix on the Random Treasure Hoard table.
The new Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual changes consisted of fixes to various stat blocks found within. While some were simple wording and clarity adjustments, some had their Spellcasting features expanded to allow each spell to be used individually each day, while others had their statistics raised or lowered. Players can expect Ancient White Dragons with higher Charisma scores, Balors with fewer Hit Points, and Arcanaloths with a higher AC in their adventures from now on, among various other adjustments.
All of these changes have already been applied to digital sources like D&D Beyond and will be reflected in the new Dungeons and Dragons SRD 5.2 when it releases on April 22. These changes have also been made in recent printings of the core rulebooks and will be implemented in all future copies as well.
When and if future errata happen, it will go live in a similar fashion, with new versions of the SRD 5.2 added with each one. What’s more, players can expect the return of the Sage Advice Compendium – a collection of answers to frequently-asked questions on rules interactions submitted by the community – some time in the near future.

We’ve got updates to D&D Beyond today with the release of errata for the 2024 core rules. This errata will serve as both an update for the core rules and an update for when we release SRD v5.2.
What is Errata?
Sometimes we release updates to our rulesets. When this happens, we provide record of it here on D&D Beyond in the form of “errata”. You can reference these updates to play the most current version of the game or ensure that your content aligns with the most up-to-date version of the rules.
