PlayStation Plus Is Removing Over 20 Games in May 2025
Sony is removing a staggering 22 games from PlayStation Plus in May.

Sony is set to remove 22 games from the PlayStation Plus game catalog on May 20, 2025, including titles such as Grand Theft Auto 5, Batman: Arkham Knight, inFAMOUS: Second Son, Payday 2, and many more. While new games are added to PlayStation Plus each month, many titles are also removed. On average, between 5 and 10 games are typically removed from the service each month; however, May will sadly see over 20 games leave the popular game catalog.
PlayStation Plus has become a must-have for PS4 and PS5 owners, with plenty of AAA and indie games being added to the service regularly. The most recent batch of games to be added to PlayStation Plus was on April 15, when Sony added Battlefield 1, Hogwarts Legacy, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2, and PlateUp. While these titles are available to those subscribed to the Extra and Premium Tier of PlayStation Plus, Premium subscribers were also given access to Alone in the Dark 2 and War of the Monsters??????.
Some major titles were added to the service earlier this month, but PlayStation Plus may be about to have its worst month yet, as over 20 games are set to leave the catalog on May 20, 2025. As spotted by PushSquare, the “last chance to play” section on the PlayStation 5 now includes 22 different games, including titles such as Grand Theft Auto 5, MotoGP 24, Ghostunner, The Sims 4: Island Living Expansion, Payday 2: Crimwave Edition, Resistance 2, Batman: Arkham Knight, and many more.

Undoubtedly, the most notable of the 22 games leaving PS Plus will be Grand Theft Auto 5, which only made its return to the service in November 2024. However, this isn’t the first time Rockstar Games’ critically acclaimed title has left the service, which means there’s a strong chance it will return in the future. Grand Theft Auto 5 was last removed from PS Plus in June 2024, before making a return in November 2024. Now, six months later, it will be leaving along with some other heavy hitters on May 20.
It’s also looking like a bad month for VR fans, as some of the best games for PSVR 2 are also being removed. In total, five PSVR 2 titles will be removed from PlayStation Plus on May 20, including The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners (both Chapter 1 and Chapter 2), Synth Riders, Before Your Eyes, and Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord. For fans looking to play any of these titles, be sure to check them out before May 20.
