REPO Teases New Weapon Coming in Future Update
The new Cart Cannon is coming to the REPO beta.

A new weapon is on the way in REPO, with game developer Semiwork sharing a demonstration of the upcoming Cart Cannon that can be used to blast through obstacles and enemies. The Cart Cannon will be coming to the REPO beta client in an upcoming build, along with some game balance changes to health packs, energy crystals, and enemy behaviors.
Since its launch in early access, REPO has become one of the top indie games of 2025 due to its physics-focused gameplay and the hilarious antics players can get into. REPO tasks groups of players with collecting and extracting as many items in a level as possible while simultaneously avoiding enemies and keeping the items from taking too much damage and dropping in value. Swedish developer Semiwork stated that REPO‘s first major update is currently available on the open beta client, introducing a new Overcharge mechanic and other bug fixes.
However, REPO fans will soon have a new item to utilize in multiplayer rounds. In the May 16 weekly developer vlog on YouTube, Semiwork shared a glimpse at the Cart Cannon, a new weapon coming soon to the REPO beta. With this new weapon, the cart can be used like a tank, as one player pushes the cart while another uses the mounted cannon. The Cart Cannon can hit enemies and objects alike, so players must be careful when aiming it. The powerful new weapon can also double as a Cart Laser, depending on which side of the weapon is pointed outward. Players can log into the REPO beta from their Steam game library by selecting REPO, clicking the Settings icon on the right, selecting Properties, and going to the Beta tab. Although mods for REPO are currently exclusive to the live client, players can swap between the live and beta versions of the game at any time.
REPO Dev Shows off New Cart Cannon
The Cart Cannon update will also introduce some adjustments based on REPO player feedback to make Health Packs and Energy Crystals more attractive to buy and use. After fixing an “infinite health pack” glitch, Semiwork said that Health Packs will heal more health during early levels, with diminishing returns every few levels after level 5.
Semiwork also stated they plan on making some enemies more prone to being stunned by smaller objects, which should make the difficulty scaling of REPO‘s first few levels easier for newer players to manage. All in all, REPO players will have some new content to try out as early access continues.
