2K confirms WWE 2K26 is in development, releasing in FY 2026.
2K’s latest financial report has confirmed the release windows for two WWE 2K games that are in active development. WWE 2K20 was an unprecedented disaster for the WWE 2K brand, but Visual Concepts and 2K have managed to turn things around significantly with subsequent efforts. WWE 2K22, 23, 24, and 25 have all been met with mostly positive reviews and strong sales.
WWE 2K25 is arguably the best entry in the WWE 2K series since the dark days of 2K20, successfully expanding on existing game modes and giving fans more options than ever before. WWE 2K25 is the highest-rated WWE 2K game in years and so it’s no surprise that 2K is looking to keep the annual sports franchise’s momentum going strong.

To the surprise of no one, 2K has confirmed that WWE 2K26 is in development and will release in the Fiscal Year 2026. This means that the game will be out by next April, which is in line with the release date schedule that’s been established since WWE 2K22. The most likely scenario is that WWE 2K26 will launch at some point next March. In the meantime, 2K also confirmed that WWE 2K Mobile, available to Netflix subscribers, will launch this fall. It remains to be seen exactly what WWE 2K Mobile is bringing to the table, but regardless, it seems that WWE fans will have two new video games to play within the next year.

Notably, WWE 2K26 did not list any platforms. Previously, it was confirmed that WWE 2K games would be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, but it has yet to be determined if that will start with 2K26 or if WWE 2K25 will get a port. WWE 2K games have been missing from Nintendo platforms for years now, so even if early adopters of Nintendo’s next-generation home console/handheld hybrid have to wait for 2K26, at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
Assuming WWE 2K26 sticks to the pattern established by other recent entries, a proper unveiling will most likely take place around the Royal Rumble next year. So even though 2K has confirmed the existence of WWE 2K26, fans shouldn’t expect substantial updates on the game until January or February 2026 at the earliest. In the meantime, WWE fans can look forward to more WWE 2K25 updates and paid DLC that will significantly expand the wrestling game’s already-sizable roster of fighters.
