2 Warhammer Games Are Being Delisted on May 19
Two Warhammer 40K games, Sanctus Reach and Armageddon, will be delisted from Steam on May 19.

Publisher Slitherine has revealed that two Warhammer 40K games, Sanctus Reach and Armageddon, will be delisted from Steam on May 19. The long-running sci-fi series got its start as a tabletop miniatures game by Games Workshop and has branched into a vast multimedia universe, spanning across books, animated series, and video games. The number of Warhammer 40K games released over the years currently runs in the dozens, with the first, Space Crusade, being released by Gremlin Interactive in 1992.
The Warhammer 40K series of games cover a range of genres, from real-time strategy to turn-based to first-person shooters. A few, like Dawn of War, Mechanicus, and 2024’s lauded Space Marine 2 have gained more mainstream attention. But there are numerous smaller titles that are worth a look as well, as they delve into various facets of the expansive franchise’s deep lore and combat systems.
Slitherine Software, the publisher of both games, has announced that Warhammer 40K: Armageddon and Sanctus Reach, including all DLC, will be delisted from Steam and the company’s own website on May 19. Anybody who has already purchased the games through these methods will retain access, and both games will remain available for purchase from GOG.com. There was no reason given for the decision to remove the games from Steam, though it’s speculated that expired licensing agreements with Games Workshop are the culprit. It’s worth noting that Armageddon is also currently 90% off on Steam.
Warhammer 40K: Armageddon and Sanctus Reach Are Being Delisted from Steam
2014’s Warhmamer 40K: Armageddon was developed by Flashback Games and The Lordz Games Studio. The turn-based Warhammer strategy game focuses on the Second War for Armageddon and features single player, as well as co-op and PVP multiplayer game modes. It received average review scores in the 7/10 range.
Sanctus Reach, developed by Straylight Entertainment, was released in 2017 and is based on The Red Waaagh! and Hour of the Wolf Warhammer 40K campaign books. Also turn-based, the game centers on the conflict between Orks and Space Marines, and it features a play-by-mail multiplayer mode. Sanctus Reach generally received a middling reception on launch.
While some fans have expressed disappointment that Armageddon and Sanctus Reach are being delisted, many already have their attention elsewhere. There have been a number of big Warhammer 40K leaks recently, including leaked images with a Dawn of War logo on it. Additionally, a recent leak about Space Marine 2 shed light on the game’s Horde Mode, as well as its summoning mechanics and points-based reward system. But, according to developer Saber Interactive, there is more coming to Space Marine 2 that even dataminers haven’t found out about.
