Xbox Game Pass is Losing 4 Games on May 31
Four games are leaving Xbox Game Pass at the end of May 2025, including popular titles like Cassette Beasts and Remnant 2.
Microsoft has announced that four games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass at the end of May 2025, with an intriguing horror puzzle game making its exit from PC Game Pass as well. While Xbox Game Pass regularly cycles out games that have been available on the subscription service for a long time in order to make way for fresh content, players may want to check out these titles quickly before they’re gone.
The last round of games leaving Xbox Game Pass took place on May 15. That round of cuts included Starbreeze Studios’ 2013 adventure game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Shiro Games’ 2022 4X strategy title Dune Spice Wars, and Rundisc’s 2023 adventure Chants of Sennaar. Also leaving Game Pass earlier this month were indie titles Hauntii and The Big Con.

Gunfire Games’ soulslike shooter Remnant 2, which has been available to Game Pass subscribers since the end of November 2023, is probably the most high-profile game on that list. Launched just a few months prior to making its first appearance on Game Pass, the third-person shooter lets players pick from a selection of 14 different character classes and relies on random generation to keep gameplay experiences fresh. It’s been a decent hit with fans, posting a Strong rating on OpenCritic, with 86 percent of professional reviewers and 80 percent of players giving it their approval.

Another quite popular game making its Game Pass exit is fusion-heavy monster-catching game Cassette Beasts, which has had a healthy two-year-long run on the service already. Players also have limited days left to play strategic puzzle platformer Humanity and retro FPS Slayers X: Terminal Afterthought: Vengeance of the Slayer on Xbox Game Pass, while PC Game Pass players are set to lose Chinese horror puzzle game Firework at month’s end.
Although fans of those games will undoubtedly miss their presence on the subscription service, Xbox Games Pass already has five games confirmed for June 2025. Unique survival game The Alters, which places players on a hostile planet with a bunch of cooperative clones, is first up, launching as a day-one release on June 13. Another day-one release, Lost in Random: The Eternal Die, will be following it on June 17, putting a roguelite spin on its predecessor’s action-adventure format. Also on tap for June are cooperative FPS FBC Firebreak on June 17, soccer title Rematch on June 19, and strategic city builder Against the Storm on June 26.
