Fans will be able to pick up a free game when buying pre-owned games for the PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The sale will reportedly apply to all used games for the three platforms, with the lowest-priced option of the three games being given as the free game. Neither the post from Wario64 nor GameStop’s official website have shared how long the promotion will run.

GameStop also regularly runs promotions on trade-ins, offering customers some extra trade credit for fans looking to trade in their games. GameStop was even offering up to $175 USD for trade-ins of Nintendo Switch consoles for fans trying to pick up a Switch 2.

GameStop’s new promotion comes as major changes are reportedly coming to the iconic gaming retailer. The retailer revealed earlier this year that GameStop is selling off all of its operations in France and Canada, potentially planning on leaving the markets entirely. GameStop’s annual SEC report suggested that the company is planning to shed a significant number of stores throughout 2025, as well as moving into Bitcoin trading. GameStop’s recent moves suggest that the once-dominant gaming retailer may be facing a shaky and uncertain future.
