EA Sports College Football 26 will feature more plays, expanded player abilities, and 300 real-world coaches.

EA Sports College Football 26 is getting ready for its big launch this summer by revealing some of the features players can expect to see, including more plays and expanded player type and ability systems. Last year’s installment in the sports franchise broke some all-time sales records worldwide, and the development team is hyping up EA Sports College Football 26 to be even better than its predecessor.

Last year, College Football 25 marked a return for the historic series after more than a decade-long hiatus. The series had clearly been sorely missed, as College Football 25 made a ridiculous amount of money for EA, earning more than $200 million even before its official release date.

For this year’s installment, launching July 10 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, EA is building on the previous year’s success with promises of deeper immersion, enhancements to gameplay, and a more authentic feeling than ever before. New features in College Football 26 include the addition of more than 2,700 additional plays, offering more play-calling variety than ever before. The game’s roster will include more than 300 different real-world collegiate coaches with strategically accurate on-the-field and recruiting schemes. Along with the coaches, the player system will also see a lot of additions, with 10 new archetypes introduced and a total of 84 different abilities they can utilize, plus other new game-day features like Dynamic Substitutions, custom zones, and improvements to blocking and coverage systems.

EA Sports College Football 26 Features

  • All 136 FBS schools
  • More than 300 real-world coaches
  • Expanded Player Types and Abilities
  • Return of Wear & Tear
  • Enhanced AI
  • Dynamic play-calling adjustments
  • Dynamic Substitions
  • Enhanced blocking and coverage systems
  • Custom zones
  • Revamped Stadium Pulse system
  • More than 160 school-specific chants and 10 new PA tracks
  • Returning broadcast and commentary team
  • Road to Glory, Dynasty, College Football Ultimate Team, and Road to the College Football Playoff modes

Along with the return of College Football 25 features like Wear & Tear, the next installment also offers a slew of immersive elements to make stadiums feel more authentic. All 136 FBS teams are represented, and stadiums will feel more unique with the inclusion of more than 160 team-specific chants and 10 new tracks blasted over the PA systems. There will also be unique celebrations and other visual effects, such as Texas Tech’s Double T Saddle Monument, to make stadiums stand out from one another.

While there are plenty of new reveals for the game, there is still one highly requested feature that’s still missing from the announcements. Despite leaks hinting that College Football 26 would include a Mascot Mode, which has appeared in older series entries and allowed players to field teams made up of several copies of each college’s costumed mascots, neither the trailer nor the official announcement contains mention of this popular game mode making its return. Players will still be able to enjoy Road to Glory, Dynasty, College Football Ultimate Team, and Road to the College Football Playoff modes.
