First unveiled in 2022, Hell is Us is an action-adventure game that has been brewing behind the scenes for quite some time now. It was originally slated for a 2023 arrival before being pushed back by two years. Earlier in 2025, Rogue Factor finally locked down a release date for Hell is Us and also showed more of its gameplay, from combat to exploration. With only a few months to go, interested gamers have been preparing for the semi-open world title’s launch. In the same spirit, the devs recently shared various tiers and system specifications to help PC players get an idea of the game’s expected performance on their respective rigs.

In a new announcementHell is Us laid out the PC specifications for running the game on different performance tiers, all the way from Minimum to Ultra. Those looking to run the game on the lowest tier, which promises 1080p 30 FPS performance at medium settings, will need a CPU-GPU combo of i7-7700K/Ryzen 3 3300X and GTX 1070 8GB/RX 5600 XT 6GB. On the other hand, those looking for an optimal performance of 1080p 60 FPS gameplay at high settings should have i7-11700K/Ryzen 5 7600 and RTX 2080Ti 11GB/RX 6750 XT 12GB. Upgrading the GPU with RTX 4090 24GB/RX 7900 XTX 24GB should offer players the best-possible Hell is Us gameplay experience, with 4K 30FPS performance at ultra settings. Across these system configurations, 16GB RAM and 30GB SSD storage are a consistent requirement for all users.

Hell is Us offering a frame-rate of only 30 FPS on the high-end RTX 4090 24GB GPU, which concerned some players. To address this concern, the Rogue Factor team released a statement on Steam and clarified that it mentioned “4K 30 FPS” for this particular GPU because, even though the frame-rate will possibly go higher, it still may not deliver a consistent 60 FPS. The Hell is Us studio reasoned that it wanted to be “realistic” and steer clear from “overpromising.”

It has been over three years since the initial Hell is Us announcement and players are understandably raring to finally play the game. When it comes out this September, it will be interesting to see how similar or different its gameplay is compared to Soulslike titles, a genre that Rogue Factor’s forthcoming game has been likened to before.
