Time is Running Out to Claim One of 2021’s Best Games for Free

Gamers have until June 12 at 11 am ET to claim Deathloop and Ogu and the Secret Forest for free on the Epic Games Store.

Gamers have a short timeframe to claim Deathloop and Ogu and the Secret Forest for free on the Epic Games Store. The Epic Games Store often offers excellent free titles on its platform, and Deathloop is an incredible pick for gamers who have not tried the first-person immersive sim yet.

Deathloop was originally released by Arkane Studios in 2021. The immersive sim stood out due to putting gamers inside a time loop, in which the same day resets over and over as they try to overcome challenges. Overall, Deathloop had a pretty positive critical reception, with most critics praising its creative story and combat, but some criticizing the repetition of its time loop. At the moment, the game currently holds an average score of 88 on OpenCritic and Mostly Positive reviews on Steam, where 77% of the players approved of it.

Gamers have up to June 12 at 11 am ET to claim Deathloop from the Epic Games Store. Apart from Arkane’s popular shooter, players can also claim Ogu and the Secret Forest, a cozy 2D adventure game with hand-drawn characters filled with puzzles. Ogu and the Secret Forest currently has 93% positive reviews on Steam, and while it’s not as widely known as Deathloop, it’s still a pretty good pick for gamers who like puzzles.

After Deathloop and Ogu and the Secret Forest are removed from the giveaway, gamers will be able to claim Two Point Hospital from the Epic Games Store. As soon as this happens, the next free game will be unveiled. Two Point Hospital is a simulation game where players run a hospital. The title is the first in a series, which also spawned Two Point Campus and Two Point Museum, which keep similar gameplay mechanics but change the setting to keep things fresh.

Arkane Studios’ next project is Marvel’s Blade, which has been quite mysterious since it was first announced. After Deathloop’s release by the Arkane Lyon studio, Arkane Austin launched Redfall in 2023, which was widely considered a failure, and the Austin-based studio shut down. At the moment, the Lyon studio is currently developing Marvel’s Blade, so gamers are hoping that it’s a return to form for Arkane. Unfortunately, the game does not have a release date window, and Marvel’s Blade did not appear at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, which disappointed fans. It remains to be seen when more information about the title will be unveiled.
