New game Overthrown joins Xbox Game Pass this fall.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers can now look forward to Overthrown joining the service at some point this fall. New games are confirmed for Xbox Game Pass on a regular basis, and so subscribers always have something to look forward to. With fall traditionally the hottest season of the year for new game releases, it’s no surprise that fall 2024 is already incredibly busy for Game Pass.
The full lineup of games coming to the subscription service has yet to be announced, but fans already know about major new games coming to Xbox Game Pass this fall, like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in October and STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl in November. Other day one Xbox Game Pass games without specific release dates are expected to come to the service this fall as well, like Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the latter of which is in development at Wolfenstein studio MachineGames. Now Xbox Game Pass subscribers have yet another game they can expect to see join the lineup this fall.
Overthrown will be added to Xbox Game Pass at some point in fall 2024 as part of the Game Preview program, which is the Xbox-equivalent of Steam’s early access. Because of this, Overthrown may not be feature-complete when it joins Xbox Game Pass, so fans should keep that in mind. As for what kind of game Overthrown is, it almost looks like Minecraft mixed with anime, and it features co-op support for up to six players.
Overthrown is Coming to Xbox Game Pass on Day One
The Overthrown gameplay trailer shows players exploring a Minecraft-like world, but with more cartoony, modern graphics as opposed to the low-res look that Mojang’s survival game uses. The game features a stylish combat system inspired by anime, and one of the main gimmicks is that players are able to pick up and throw down “anything” to build cities. It looks interesting and should definitely be on the radar of any Xbox Game Pass subscribers needing more co-op games to play with friends.
Overthrown isn’t the only new co-op game coming to Xbox Game Pass in the near future. In fact, it was just recently confirmed that 8-player co-op game Core Keeper is coming to Game Pass on August 27. Fans can expect even more co-op games to join the Game Pass lineup as the months go by, so they should keep an eye out for new additions.
