The Epic Games Store free game for Thursday, November 28 is Brotato. Epic Games Store users get a new free game or two every Thursday at 10:00am CT, which means that it’s now time for PC gamers to log in and claim the launcher’s latest freebie.
From now until Thursday, November 28 at 10:00am CT, Epic Games Store users can claim Beholder for their digital libraries. For the uninitiated, Beholder is a game where players take on the role of a landlord running an apartment complex in a totalitarian, 1984-like government. Players are tasked with spying on their tenants and then choosing what to do with the information they collect. It’s a rather unique experience and one that earned mostly positive critic reviews at the time of the game’s original release in 2016. User reviews were also highly positive, with Beholder enjoying a “Very Positive” overall user rating on Steam.
Beholder is free on the Epic Games Store until November 28, at which point it will be swapped out for Brotato. For those unfamiliar with the game, Brotato is similar to Vampire Survivors, but with more roguelite elements and other gameplay features that help it stand apart from its inspiration. Originally launched as a single-player game, Brotato now has co-op support, which makes it an even more interesting addition to the Epic Games Store free games lineup. Brotato earned mostly positive reviews as well and should make for a solid addition to anyone’s EGS library.

It’s possible that it will be business as usual, meaning fans will get an announcement about the Epic Games Store free game for December 5 on November 28 when Brotato is made free, but there’s a slim chance that the free mystery game promotion will kick off instead.
Every year in December, the Epic Games Store hosts a free mystery game promotion where it gives away a new free game every day. The start date for the free mystery game promotion has been inconsistent from one year to the next, but users can count on it starting by mid-December at the very least. It’s anyone’s guess as to what the Epic Games Store free mystery games may be, but it will be interesting to see what the launcher has in store next month. In the meantime, Epic Games Store users can claim Beholder right now and can look forward to claiming Brotato on November 28.
