Palworld Confirms Release Window for Crossplay Update
Palworld’s crossplay update will be released in late March 2025, facilitating multiplayer across all platforms.

Pocketpair has finally narrowed down when the crossplay update for Palworld will be released. Despite an ongoing copyright infringement dispute with Nintendo, the survival shooter has enjoyed relatively strong success since its release in January 2024. While its legal issues are as yet unresolved, Palworld is planning on a big second year, which includes rolling out its much-anticipated crossplay feature.
Fans have been waiting for cross-platform support since the early days following the game’s launch. Pocketpair announced Palworld would get crossplay functionality on January 24, just five days after it became available to the public. Since then, there hasn’t been much more news regarding the promised update, but the team behind the game has taken to Twitter to give players a better idea of when they can expect to play with friends on other systems.
In a March 12 tweet, the official Palworld account revealed that the crossplay update will come in late March 2025. It also clarified that the new feature will mean multiplayer will extend between all platforms, not just between closely related ones like PC and Xbox. It seems like a great time for Pocketpair to release this update, too, as Palworld recently surpassed 32 million players across all systems. Now those millions of users will only have to wait for a couple of weeks before they can play with each other on whichever platform they prefer.
Palworld Crossplay Update Will Arrive in Late March 2025
In addition to narrowing down the crossplay release date, Pocketpair also revealed it would sell Palworld for 25% off on all platforms for a limited time. The game’s PlayStation Store listing says the discount will last through March 27, so it’s possible it will remain on sale until the crossplay update comes out. The promotion and upcoming expansion could be another big moment for a title that’s already achieved a lot in its first year despite its challenges. After releasing the Feybreak update, Palworld experienced its biggest spike in concurrent Steam players since its initial hype upon release died down.

Pocketpair’s recent success and continued effort to expand its flagship game are interesting, possibly even surprising, given its legal issues with Nintendo. The company is notorious for pursuing legal action, and its recent patent activity suggests it could be trying to build up a stronger case against Palworld, though the game and its studio have survived so far. At least one legal expert thinks Nintendo’s lawsuits won’t impact Palworld too heavily, but it remains to be seen how the ongoing battle will end. For now, players can at least look forward to getting crossplay functionality in just a few short weeks.
